2. That's right before Ratchet & Clank comes out right? Seems like a good choice.
For those who have a PS2, wait for the 40GB. PS2 games look a bit better (colors are more vibrant) on the PS2 than on the PS3 and you have 100% BC. But for people, like me, who don't have a PS2, get the 40GB as soon as it comes out.
Good luck to the 40GB sales in the U.S.

4. BC question:
I have a PS2. The only reason why I'd want a PS3 with BC is the wireless controller. I know the PS3/360 controllers have no lag, but my roommate had a PS2 wireless controller that had a noticeable lag between button presses and action happening. Anyone have any suggestions for good, non-laggy wireless PS2 controllers?

5. Oops I mean "get the 60GB while you can". Hard to type and pay attention in lectures.

6. OK, here is how it works.
Tempt people with the entry level price, but make the fully featured system only a few $$$ more, and offering ALOT more. People will almost certainly then go with the more expensive system.
Sony don't want to sell TOO many cheap systems, they want people to look at the cheap system, but see sense in buying the little bit more $$$ lots more stuff model.

7. @6
Thats probably true. I am pretty sure Sony is making a profit on 80GB consoles and not the 40GB.

8. How much will our 60GBs be worth when they are all out of stalk?
I hope it ends up like the ps1, where the first revision was worth a lot more just because it had an Y/R audio ports seperated from the video port
