Uncharted brunette has more fun as blonde

Elena Fisher, from Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, may look like your average Sara plain and tall, but she's got a wild side too. How do we know? Well, it seems as if she's up and gone on a shopping spree at the local hair salon and neighboring plastic surgeon! Just a little bit of bleaching and a little bit of chin work, and voila! The makeover is complete, and just in time too. Her friends at Naughty Dog say that they "just preferred her blonde". Hopefully she can handle all the blonde jokes that come with the territory.

1. Blondes...they know a lot about "US Americans" and "places like such as" and "the Iraq" and South Africa and why "US Americans" don't have maps. ha ha.

2. Hmm...she reminds me a bit of Jewel, now.

3. From Jennifer Connelly to Jewel. I didn't like her face graphics in the early trailers; her face looked unfinished. It looks much more detailed now. That would make sense considering the game's not done yet.

4. But does this mean we'll have more fun? ;)

5. Her face looked too generic in the beginning, but now I say thumbs up! She doesn’t have to be blonde, but it helps that they filled in her features.

6. I agree with nih, making her blonde didn't make her look better. They just rendered her better in the second pic. She would have looked just as complete in the second pic as a brunette.

7. Looking at the version on the left, I was wondering if this would be the first videogame heroine that would travel from place to place on the short bus... Thankfully she looks a bit "better" now!

8. Yeah, I remember noticing this on the last trailer on the PSN. Pretty crazy. What's even funnier is that PS3FB once posted a series of screens for Uncharted that showed an even earlier version of the character that looked like Randy Jackson with a bowl haircut. Considering that all that's changed on Drake since the initial concepts is the color of his shirt, Naughty Dog sure can't make up their minds on this girl.

9. Can't find the really old ones, but here's one from a while back: http://www.3dtotal.com/team/interviews/Richard_diamat/images/elena-render.jpg

13. Now if they can only work on her acting skills, or lack thereof.

Posted at 4:54PM on Sep 5th 2007 by chris.westermann

14. Randy Jackson should be Randy Johnson. And Doug, you haven't seen the bad ones yet.

15. She does look better... maybe just the facial expression... before she looking really ugly...

Posted at 5:10PM on Sep 5th 2007 by shase

16. I think the first one is more believable for this kind of adventure. Your not gonna find too many blondes treasure hunting.

Posted at 5:18PM on Sep 5th 2007 by Andy

17. Holy crap, she got hot. I like the details they added to her face and what-not, and now she looks like she's gotten to Nathan's level of detail.

Posted at 5:35PM on Sep 5th 2007 by Ron(ald)

18. Wow, she suddenly turned hot! And she seems to look more detailed now...
