The Tokyo Game Show promises to be an exciting show, not least because two of your favourite PS3 Fanboys will be reporting directly from the event. Sony has released their playable lineup of titles and it is impressively long. We've had hands on with most of the following at E3 and Leipzig, but a couple, namely echochrome and Little Big Planet, really stick out at us as must-plays. 1. Ooh... "Unannounced Title" from Q Entertainment? I'm excited!

2. I'm seeing a lot of western games in that list. It will be interesting to see which, if any, are popular at the show by the eastern gamers. I want to see if Ratchet gets any good marks, as well as LBP and Eye of Judgment.

3. Hey Sh0wstopper, the LAIR thing was recently discovered by everyone, so you're not alone. I've been using my remote play for when I travel, allowing me to access me collection of music, movies, and of course game linked to my PS3. Definitely a geek boost to my friends who are completely jealous about the whole Remote Play thing. haha

I have to run my PSP at the 333mhz to be able to run LAIR right, but it's amazing!

4. @3

I would like to check my mail in game but I could care less about cross game invites. Whatever game I am playing is the game I want to play.

Just a question so don't yell at me. Are those the only features that Xbox live has over the PSN?

5. I agree with TheSh0wstopper and Andy. Option to access the XMB to check messages while in a game was something I thought would of been added to last night's 1.92 update.

6. Andy: I think cross-game invites are a good idea. If you're playing R6Vegas and your friends get in a great Warhawk server, they should be able to invite you right away. Especially since Warhawk is a downloadable title...there's no disc-swapping involved and no reason you can't transition from one (BD) game to a hard drive game.

7. @7

The problem I have with that is if my friend wants to play NHL 2K7 and I don't want to play I don't want to offend them by saying no. Also I don't want to get my hopes up.

8. Speaking of spam, I was getting spammed by some ArabianNights guy last night for Tekken... that game allows you to invite pretty easily.

Anyway, this game list looks pretty good. But whatever happened to Elefunk? I can't wait for my cheap bridge builder game!

9. I can't wait to see what else Sony has to bring to the table! They rocked it at E3!

10. Thats true about Warhawk, nobody seems to talk but I have yet to find screaming 12 year olds ($500 is a little out of their budget)

So the big difference between the PSN and Xbox Live is cross game chat and invites, and access to your friends list in game. That does make Xbox Live better but is it $60 worth.

Thanks for the info.

11. For me its $60 (in Canadian dollars). For you its worth it I suppose, but for me its not because I average about 30 minutes to an hour of gaming a day.

Your list of prices reminds me of a mastercard commercial.

12. On the topic of communicating in-game. Imagine a Warhawk like title where one person from each side assumes the role of commander and gets an over view of the battle field (a la RTS). They can give commands to groups of soldiers via the mic and map markers. How kick ass would that be. A real team experience. And if your commander sucked, you would be slaughtered.

13. Sorry My Limit is 1 Game a Month! HS is next Folklore!

14. I think more features for XMB/PSN also means larger memory usage, unless its cached in the hard drive, which will represent slower switching from in-game.

I think the only real thing PSN needs is more games. There are so many PSX games I would love to see in high definition.

15. @Show,

i agree with you that, on Live every body talks!!!

i've been in a game of RB6V on the PS3...and no body is saying a thing! not calling targets (moving or Down), hell my wife even said something about that the other night,"it doesn't seem like you're haveing fun! and why can't i hear the other players talking like i do on your 360?"

comm is key in this game(or most team based games for that matter), and yes i know RB6V needs an audio patch or something but, on Live it flows!

the PSN is getting there but.... IMHO, they need to kick it up a notch!

16. I find PSN so close to Live that paying anything for Live isn't worth it.

Posted at 3:01PM on Sep 4th 2007 by Extinction

17. @15- Actually its called the whole Battlefield series, well atleast BF2 and BF2142 has a commander, but maybe 1942 had it. Play it if you've got a decent 'puter>
