PS3 Poll Police: What is your all-time favorite console?

The Poll Police need to bring you in for questioning again, this time to see if you've been harboring foreign consoles in your media center. While it's not a crime, we are curious to see what console has held the most of your love. Not necessarily gauged in playtime, but the console that really got you into gaming, or had that one game you just could not get enough of. We're not going to be putting every console known to man on the poll, but we'll cover the heavy-hitters.

What is your favorite console, like, ever?
Atari 2600
The Nintendo Entertainment System
Sega Master System
Super NES
Sega Genesis
Sega Saturn
Nintendo 64
PlayStation the First
Microsoft Xbox
Nintendo Lunchbox-cube
PlayStation the Second
Nintendo Wii
Microsoft Xbox 360
Sega Dreamcast
PlayStation 3, naturally.

There are obviously a lot of choices, so we'll obviously need a lot of answers! If you want to see the results of last weeks poll, we'll discuss it after the jump.

The question was whether or not you'd like to see PS3 Fanboy Theater, where we'd stick movie and game trailers in high definition for your downloading pleasure, playable on your PS3. The results speak for themselves -- you would mostly love to watch whatever we've got for you. While they won't be antics, they will be fun. So expect more news on this topic later on. As always, thanks for voting!

2. I'm gonna have to go with the Dreamcast on this one.

3. Sega Saturn! Mr. Bones was the best game ever. Lunacy was awesome as well.

4. I said playstation the 2nd because of the global impact it made and the outstanding games that are on it. I've no doubt the PS3 will follow it's footsteps and even surpass the impact it has made, but in terms of the here and now the PS2 has it by a long shot with the history of it being the fastest selling console of all time.

5. I'm with Conor on this one.

6. Love you PS3 Fanboy but these results have a potential to be pretty biased.

8. TurboGrafx 16

9. No Neo-Geo? Come on. Anyway, its a tie between SNES and PS1 for me. PS3 could top them both if it starts getting games soon.

Posted at 7:47PM on Jun 10th 2007 by Xiru

10. I have had many of those systems in the past. The PS3 is my favorite. None of the others ever made me say "WOW"!

Posted at 8:04PM on Jun 10th 2007 by Matt B

11. It's pathetic how many votes the ps3 has lol, it's not even been out a year and still doesn't have a truly defining title yet. I have no doubt it will in future, but how can you state that the ps3 is your favourite yet?

It was close between the SNES and the ps1 for me, but i chose the ps1 because my favourite game FF7 was on it, and the ps1 was just the king of RPGs (favourite genre). Although the SNES had it's fair share of beauties.

12. 3DO isn't on the list, so I can't vote on it. Sure it's really easy to look back and laugh, but at the time, it delivered gaming like you couldn't find anywhere else. So in terms of the biggest "OMG LOOK AT THAT!" when I first turned it on, the 3DO would win.

13. No Intellevision or Colecovision?

I really loved Venture and Smurf's back in the day.

Showing my age, I was really torn as the console games didn't even come close to the graphic quality of the Arcade game versions. I purchased a 2600, Colecovision, a NES, and a SNES. After that computer games were just above and beyond the console market for me.

14. PSP is my favorite out of all those

Posted at 8:54PM on Jun 10th 2007 by Tahiri

15. I would have to say Genesis.

Phantasy Star 4, Shinning Force 1 and 2, and the NHL games were great. easy controller to handle too (the 6 button controller was my favorite controller.)

16. Nintendo 64... it gave us the analog thumb sticks and trigger buttons and rumble... others have copied all that but Ocarina of Time is still pretty much the best game of all time... plus Mario 64 blew me away when it came out, a true system seller that one.

Goldeneye hasn't aged well, but it was rad when it came out.

17. Playstation the 1st. Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain and Soul Reaver. Um-azing.

Is it fair to judge when I have only owned a PS3 and an Original Xbox?

I choose PS3 but still my favourite game is on the box.

World Series Baseball. It has the best franchise mode ever. It is really fun to have your players always growing year to year and choosing between three 100 overall LFers.

Its nice to look at your players stats and have them with a 100 AVG and 100 PWR. And with .342 and 59 homeruns. I am in the year 2137 in my franchise.

I just keep playing and playing in the unlimited years. I don't want a 30 year cap on my franchise I want to play until I am bored

I am way off topic.

19. Loved the Turbo Grafx with the turbo express. Small cards that fit both. Although the cd was a real bust just like the genesis cd add-on. With the PS3 playing previous version games upconverted and any video I want, it's the PS3 for me.
