FolksSoul demo coming this Friday

Make a Japanese PSN account. Now. If you haven't, you're going to continue missing out on all the free demos the Japanese gamer crowd get. It's not tough -- sign up for one in your own language, make notes about what information goes on each page, then make a Japanese one. Why are we insisting you do this? So you can test drive FolksSoul along with us this Friday when a demo hits the Japanese PS Store.

Also known as Folklore in the US, the game had kept a very low key until Gamer's Day, when a new trailer and multiple screens made an entrance and blew a lot of people away. Sure, it's absolutely a Japanese game -- lacking muscular men with big shiny guns, but it does look incredibly fun to play. So that's why we're telling you about the demo. It's rumored to be over an entire gigabyte, so make sure you've got something else to do. Try it out, then decide if it's for you or not!

1. I am sooo ready to try this game out. I've got 4 different international accounts--one of which is Japanese. I hope it's in English, most of their demos are.

2. I started up a Hong Kong account, hearing early rumors that it was the same content as Japan (with the exception being that you can set the HK store to English).

I guess I'll know this week the content issue, if/when Folkssoul/Folklore shows up in the HK store.

In fact, I hear rumblings that there is a trailer up in the J-store, so maybe when I get home I can see if the content is the same in the HK-store.

3. This wasn't even on my radar for some reason. I'll have to check it out later this week, a demo is always welcome... hopefully in enough english that I can figure out what's going on. Time to continue the quest to learn japanese.

5. @ 4

If I am not mistaken, thus far this is a japan only game. no us release info has been announced. so you best take back your bet.

6. Why else would they assign a different name in the US if it weren't going to release there?

7. @ nick....shhhsssshhhh man (we dont want sony to cotton on to this mate)
;)

8. @5: Might want to actually look on the net first. US release has already been announced for October, as there was a lot of coverage for this game at Gamers Day, which is a US event.

There was plenty in the demonstration that was in English, so im sure they are capable of putting together an English demo. The only thing missing might be voice-overs if they aren't finished with them yet.

9. I´ll bet €20 we won´t see it in the Europe store for 2 weeks.!

10. If it comes out this Friday in Japan isn't that this Thursday in the US since they are one day ahead.

Posted at 5:23PM on May 29th 2007 by ToXicDecree

11. Uh, FolksSoul is a role playing strategy game... being a role playing strategy game, you can do some new awesome things like real-time magic change. It's also based on real history that took... actually took place in the medieval times.

So here's this GIANT, ENEMY DRAGON, and you... attack its weak point, for MASSIVE damage.

;) I kid, I kid XD

Then make a new user (Andy2) and create a new Hong Kong account. Does anyone know if HotShots Golf 5 has an English mode?
