Trophy and PAIN addicts are going to have to wait a little bit longer. The Amusement Park expansion, originally due tomorrow, has been delayed to some time later this month. The reason behind the delay? Well, one part comes from the developers changing Trophy requirements. When the original Trophy list was unveiled, many complained that they were too challenging, and could only be accomplished by those that played the game constantly. "They began to resemble the tedious level grinds in MMOs and not the spoils for being good," the PAIN blog admits. "So we thought rather than making people play PAIN for the trophies, it might be a better idea to let people play PAIN because it's REALLY FUN and let the earned trophies come from that experience."
The revised Trophy list is available, after the cut.
While Ferrari Challenge may not be getting the attention of say, Gran Turismo, it will offer a ton of PS3-exclusive features once a v2 patch releases in September. The patch will not only add Trophies, but it will also add custom soundtrack support, a Photo Mode to save images to the hard drive, and heck -- an improvement to the game's framerate to boot.
The game is available in stores now. Check out the release trailer above.

My PSN profile tells me that I am a Trophy n00b. An abysmal 1st level collector. I've acquired most of the trophies that you averageprimate could gather with ease, and I'm not sure I'll be able to get many more. I have a paltry 8 trophies, all of them from PixelJunk Eden. That puts me at a 33% completion rate, firmly in the middle of category: l-o-s-e-r. Still, I didn't download Eden for the Trophies any more than I downloaded it hoping it would teach me to finally get my snozzberry* plants to grow. I downloaded it because it was a much lauded and quirky, not to mention exclusive, PSN title and I happen to have a soft spot for such qualities (particularly the exclusivity). Being able to collect Trophies through the game is just a bonus, a diversionary side quest that makes the whole package slightly more appealing.
As I venture for the first time into this whole trophy business I've had to ask myself why I should even bother. What is the appeal of achievements Trophies? Do they add to or take away from a game? What is it about the Trophy system that made it such a sought after addition to the PSN? Milestones? Bragging rights?
Although WipEout HD is a PSN download-exclusive game, it looks like it may be priced like a standard retail game. A snapshot of the game's Trophy screen shows a Platinum Trophy for the game -- one that's reserved for full retail games. Shorter, cheaper games on PSN, such as PixelJunk Eden, Super Stardust HD and PAIN, do not feature a Platinum Medal. However, full-priced retail games, such as Uncharted, do grant Platinum Trophies.
With this evidence, we can postulate that WipEout HD will be available for download for at least $30 (the cost of Warhawk, downloaded from the PLAYSTATION Store). SCEA still hasn't announced an official release date or price for the game, but rest assured that the news is forthcoming.
We've been quietly updating our Trophy Portal almost every day. There are so many games that are getting Trophy support, and we thought you'd be quite annoyed if we told you about every single one of them on the front page. With the help of PS3Trophies.orgagain, we can confirm that a significant number of third party developers are adding Trophies to their games. Here's a list of just a few
The Wheelman
The Godfather II
Mirror's Edge
Alpha Protocol
Bayonetta
Sonic Unleashed
Alone in the Dark (Update: Alone in the Dark does not contain Trophies.)
Remember to check our constantly-updated Trophy Portal to see what new additions there are. Also, note that our Trophy Guides for PixelJunk Eden and Uncharted are just a few days away.
It's been known for some time now that LittleBigPlanet will have Trophies, but we haven't actually seen them yet ... well, until now that is. The video after the cut witnesses the reluctant unlocking of four Bronze Trophies and a Silver one during a gameplay demonstration at Leipzig. For all the unduly converted Trophy junkies out there, these Trophies are titled: Forager, Sticky Fingers, Treasure Hunter, 2x Multiplier, and Booty Master (this is the silver one).
Personally, Booty Master takes the trophy naming prize for us. Is there a Trophy we can give to a Trophy? Anyway, knowing that the game is due out by the end of October, this little bit of info comes as a pleasant early taste of a fresh new accolade hunt that's soon to come. Check out the video, after the cut.
Just like Europe, SingStar will be getting an expansion disc here in the States. The disc offers the same SingStar experience as the original, but offers a different track list featuring 30 new songs. For newcomers to the series, this is a different way of getting the full PS3 SingStar experience. However, series regulars will have to swap discs if they want to have all the songs from Volume 1 and Volume 2: there's no way of ripping content from one disc to another, a la Rock Band.
SingStar is meant to be a constantly evolving platform, and we're assuming any new features added to America's Volume 2 disc will be applied via patch across all other SingStar games. For example, the US version of SingStar received a patch that contained all the new features added to the European Volume 2 game. One of the most exciting features for the upcoming expansion is the addition of Trophies -- exactly how that will work in conjunction with the SingStore is anyone's guess.
For this week's SingStore update, and the full track listing for Volume 2, visit IGN.
Over at PlayStation.Blog, the game director of Warhawk, Dylan Jobe, lets us in on the details surrounding the important v1.5 update which will bring trophies. Last week, we already provided you with a list of trophies and a release date of August 27th for Europe -- it now appears the date will apply to the US as well. Other updates will include:
Custom in-game music confirmed once again.
Training tutorials -- 4 offline tutorials for "newbies" to the game, focusing "on the core principals of each of the 3 modes of gameplay: Infantry, Ground Vehicles and Aircraft." The fourth tutorial, Flight Practice, will have players destroying as many attack drones as possible in 3 minutes. Completing these tutorials will result in a trophy.
Clan leaders will now have the ability to retract a clan invite.
20 new paint schemes and 50 new insignias.
Participants of the GGL tournament will receive a in-game GGL-Ceremonial Knife. The winners of the tournament will receive a Champion's Blade.
Green servers will be designated for rookies only.
Jobe hints at a jetpack for the next Booster Pack with a promise of more information to come at Leipzig.
Some exploits and issues were fixed. Read Jobe's post for more details.
IGN has revealed the trophy list for Rock Band 2, but there's a problem. We have no idea how valuable each trophy is. Obviously we'll update this post as soon as we find out which are gold, silver and bronze. Rock Band 2 is a Blu-ray title, so there's a Platinum to be nabbed if you can get every single one on the list. \\

It seems like almost every game is getting Trophy support these days. Pretty soon, it won't be long until Trophies become standard across all games (and they'll stop being special!). A sharp reader noticed an image on IGN for the upcoming Blitz game that features the now-familiar icon with the next: "You have earned a trophy." Considering it's a multiplatform title, it's likely that the Trophies in Blitz will be identical to the Xbox 360's Achievements.
Here it is folks, the Trophy list for the PSN downloadable PAIN. Expect Trophies to be enabled on September 4th, the same day PAIN Amusement Park will be released. Unfortunately, in a rather distressing move, to get all the Trophies, you must buy extra characters. That's a real shame -- it's a practice we want to discourage.

There are a total of 57 trophies according to this list, with the breakdown being 36 Bronze, 13 Silver, 7 Gold and 1 Platinum trophy. With this list in your hands and custom music tracks coming our way, we'll bet every Warhawk fan is quivering with anticipation. Look for patch 1.5 on August 27th. Full list of trophies, after the jump.
Our friends across the Atlantic are going to have an edge when it comes to Trophies, with the release of the new Buzz! Quiz TV Trophy patch. The multiplayer quiz game encourages you to play all the game modes to unlock the Trophies. Over time, it should be easy -- but what about those secret Trophies? Hmm.

Trophies have been implemented for over a month now, but we've been holding back on opening our new trophy Portal until there were actually games that supported them. You know, plural. But now that PixelJunk Eden and Uncharted are both rocking the trophies, with more to come later this month, this seems like as good a time as any to get the party started.
Our Trophy Portal, which can be accessed at any time from www.ps3fanboy.com/trophies, includes links to almost every trophy-based article we've written. We've listed games which we know will support trophies in the future, those that we know won't and, for those that already do, we've got links to their corresponding trophy lists and guides. This page will be constantly updated with new info as and when we receive it.
