Surprising almost no one, Tekken 6 has been officially announced for a fall 2009 release on the PS3/Xbox 360. The new English language trailer takes us to the magical world of Tekken, where kangaroos and pandas can hold grudge matches against fat people. Who says games aren't art?
Tekken 6 in December, PS3 exclusivity in question
However, when pressed for more information regarding PS3-exclusivity, Suzaki replied "No. It hasn't been determined yet as of the moment ..." The statement -- given how the Tekken series has been strictly placed on PlayStation platforms for the past decade -- raises some eyebrows towards the possibility of Tekken 6 landing elsewhere as well. Suzaki reaffirms that the game is still being primarily developed for the PS3 ... but with that in mind, it sounds like Namco could end up pulling an FFXIII.

See Marshall Lee from the upcoming Tekken movie
Cung Le plays "Marshall Law" from the franchise, and he can be seen in costume in this newly released pic (available on his MySpace page). Looks like he's going to need to grow a mustache if he wants to complete the role. But hey, at least the pants look pretty spot on.

Tekken 6 tournament match videos excite and enthrall
Octave Engine in Tekken 6 makes waves
Indeed it does. Quite literally. The Octave Engine is the world's first simulation engine to dynamically simulate hydrodynamics on a game machine. In the video, the Octave Engine shows how it accurately simulates waves and splashes in Tekken 6. Described as "natural environment middleware," the Octave Engine is not only capable of simulating hydrodynamics but also the physics of other small particle systems, like sand.
In a game like Tekken 6, this technology would definitely add a touch of realism to an otherwise static fighting arena. Imagine this: two combatants are brawling on a beach; characters leave their footprints in the sand as the waves crash against the shore, slowly washing away the prints with each pass. And of course, don't forget this is happening while the characters are knocking each other into the water for some huge, realistic splashes.

Tekken 6 introduces new characters in trailer
In case you were wondering what the intro to Tekken 6 looks like, here you go. We get to see a couple familiar faces and then the introduction of the new ones. Our big buddy Bob seems quite agile, despite his size. It could make for an interesting fight against armed bank robbers, we guess. Anyway, check it out as it's something to get you pumped if you make your way to a Japanese arcade when it's released. Or when it hits on PS3 sometime in the fairly distant future.
Tekken 6's Bob hates skinny people
GamesRadar has published several images that prove, despite Bob's weight problem, he's actually quite a nimble fellow. Who would've thought a character that resembles the late Chris Farley could kick above his head?
Bob and the rest of the Tekken 6 cast are set to hit the PS3 next year.
