PLAYSTATION Network portable ID now available

Here's a nifty feature some of you have been looking forward to -- an official way to display your PSN ID on various websites. Obviously, you will need to have a PSN account. You will also need to sign up for a PlayStation Underground account as well if you do not already have one. Linking to the two of them together will allow you access to the PLAYSTATION Network portable ID. The PSN portable ID "is a visual summary of your PLAYSTATION®Network account, including your Avatar, "About Me" message and Online ID." There is even an HTML code provided for you to display this information wherever you please.

You can also now access your Friend List via the PSU -- in addition to the information on their portable ID, you will see their online status. If online, you can view their comment/status and what game they are currently playing. If they are offline, you can see when they were last online. At this time, you cannot manage your Friend List via the PSU. So what are you waiting for? Link your accounts up here.

Rumour: Bioware to showcase a PS3 exclusive at E3?

PSU is today reporting that the community director of Bioware has confirmed that they will be at E3. He states that they weren't happy to confirm their presence there until they "were sure that the cool stuff we're going to be showing there was set, ready and very, very cool."

While it's clear that they will be showing Mass Effect and Sonic RPG at the expo, PSU is speculating that they will also be revealing a new PS3 exclusive. Their reasoning stems from a conversation with Richard Vogel, Bioware's Director of Operations, at the GDC, during which he mentioned to PSU that there was a game in development for the PS3. Unfortunately, no further details were able to be obtained.

Checking the Bioware website, the "in development" games list shows a listing for a "new next generation game". We look forward to seeing if PSU's hunch is correct when E3 comes around.

The Wall screenwriter interview over at PSU

The guys over at PSU have an exclusive interview with Vladimir Mamontov, screenwriter for Burut's upcoming game The Wall. If you haven't heard of it before, The Wall is a post-apocalyptic FPS being developed in Russia using the GameBryo engine (of Oblivion fame).

The interview contains some interesting details regarding the game, despite most of the latter questions being answered with, essentially, 'no comment'. There's no word on details like the final resolution of the game, disc space requirements or release date. Apparently it's too early to say, despite being in production for almost a year. In fact, judging from all the things that are still in consideration for the game we wouldn't expect to see a release before the end of 2008.

Interesting points which are discussed include Sixaxis support, weapon customisation and an intriguing story outline. The environment screens are fairly pretty, too. This game looks like it could potentially be something quite special. A second chance in case Bethesda end up ruining Fallout 3, perhaps? Nah. That'll never happen.

Read the full interview over at PSU and let us know what you think of the game. Had you even heard of it before? We hadn't.

[Thanks Justin!]
