GTA IV freezes sometimes, but there's a fix
Don't worry, there's a fix. Rockstar has stated that simply deleting your game data and then reinstalling will fix the issue. So if you're being plagued this particular bug then give that a go and see what happens. If it works, let us know. If it doesn't, then let us know that too. If you can keep the tears back long enough to type out a comment, that is.

That's pretty much it, this week. Two games worldwide, but what more do you need? GTA IV should very well tide you over until the next major release. Depending on what you're excited for that's either Haze or Metal Gear Solid 4. With both of these games due within the next month and a half, now really is a great time to own a PS3.
GTAIV PS3 outselling 360 version 3 to 1 at Asda
Comet's game representative also told MCV that they "have great expectations and believe [GTA IV] is going to be a massive hardware driver – especially on PS3." We hope they're right. As soon as we hear any interesting sales figures after the launch of Grand Theft Auto IV we'll be sure to let you know. In the meantime, you can rest assured that the game is selling amazingly with regards to pre-orders and most stores are already out of their initial allocations of stock.

GTA IV bundle confirmed for Europe
We're certainly intrigued to see how many PS3s GTAIV will push and a bundle like this can only be a good thing. So if you haven't got a PS3 yet and are thinking of picking one up for what is, arguably, the biggest game release of the year, you know what to go for.

Australia gets censored GTA IV
The Age is reporting that Rockstar had to submit an edited version of Grand Theft Auto IV to the OFLC in order to receive a passing rating. Rockstar confirmed this, but did not clarify what the censored content was. The game officially earned an MA15+ rating last year, Australia's most restricted rating.
This must be really saddening news for all you Aussies. Not only do you have to live with those horribly annoying OFLC ratings crowding your beloved box cover, but they also serve as cruel reminders of the censorship only you must endure. Sad indeed, especially after hearing the good news about the UK version.

GTA IV: subway map, PS3 controls revealed
The news keeps leaking out of Rockstar today. Images of Liberty City's surprisingly complex subway system have been found at GTAGaming.com. While it doesn't come close to matching the true depth of NYC's real world subway, Rockstar clearly goes beyond any effort in the gaming world to date. Even lesser known NYC locales, like Roosevelt Island, get a treatment in this faux recreation of the Big Apple.
It doesn't take much to imagine the scale of GTA IV. Simply think of all the blocks, buildings and landmarks that fit within this map. It boggles the mind, and makes us wonder if anyone will be playing anything but GTA in the months following its release.

GTA IV multiplayer: 15 modes, 16 players
There are an eclectic mix of modes: Hangman's Noose appears to be an interesting co-op mission, Cops N Crooks is exactly what it sounds like, and more. With support for 16 players, this is certainly going to be interesting. Check out the scans at GTAForums.com.

It's finally coming. Grand Theft Auto IV is finally coming. After months of delays, it looks like Rockstar's ready to put the finishing touches on the game. These two new trailers show the tongue-in-cheek humor the franchise is known for. Check out the other new trailer, after the cut.

The trailers have suggested that this upcoming GTA will finally take the series to a more serious, mature place, and the website seems to reflect that. It's far classier than previous efforts, while still maintaining the tongue-in-cheek humor the franchise has been known for.

Internet gets run over: GTAIV trailer goes live
The internet is dying! Why, you ask? The hotly anticipated Grand Theft Auto IV trailer has gone live. If the embedded video (above) doesn't seem to work, try downloading this HD torrent. You can also try GameTrailers, but internet gamers haven't been any kinder to that service. If you don't mind low quality, it seems like YouTube has been able to survive the assault so far. Watch, and marvel the next generation of GTA. Are you psyched?!

DFC analysts say Sony's PS3 may "end up third"
DFC Intelligence -- a market-forecasting agency -- have recently released their likely scenarios regarding the upcoming war o' consoles. They have an interesting set of scenario guidelines/factors they used in setting up how Sony would turn out. How'd they turn out? They say If we look at the bulleted list on the site, the first three, summarized as:
- Current market position
- Current software library
- Other consoles' current software libraries
There is no question Sony rocks the socks off of analysts for the first three points. The rest of the list? A little harder to discern a clear victor. These points consider:
- Expecting upcoming software for the PS3 (debatably good or bad)
- Upcoming software for competitors (debatably good or bad also)
- Price of PS3 measured against rivals
- Chance/amount of price drop
- Hardware/WOW! (NOT World of Warcraft...) factor
A lot of debate had been risen from the fact GTA4 won't be exclusive to the PS3, however, according to DFC Intelligence, less than 20% of PS2 owners bought any of the titles. In fact, " Without GTA buyers, the PS2 would still have outsold the competition by more than 3 to 1." Nice. That's good news, even if speculation. So, will PS3 fall prey to the worst case scenario, or manage to stay on top (or even second) by the skin of its beautiful, beautiful teeth? Again, the Tokyo Game Show will hopefully give PS3 more positive press.

Could 360 GTA4 hurt Sony? He said, she said...
Let the mud throwing commence! You've heard it from the horse's mouth: Jack Tretton of Sony doesn't "think the battle would be any different with or without Grand Theft Auto ... I don't think [losing GTA exclusivity] hurts us. ... I really don't."Okay, so Sony ain't scared. But let's get real: it isn't like GTA4 won't be coming to their own console after all. Sure, having exclusivity means a lot. Many of you spoke up with concerns just over the possibility of Assassin's Creed being non-exclusive. But this is Grand Theft Auto and it's been all over the place. Would this being cross-platform really hurt anyone?
I guess we'll have to wait and see. The mud slinging continues, however, with a priceless quote from Tretton on the PS3 cost: "Well, I guess if price is the only consideration, then we've won the war, because we've got a $129 PlayStation 2 that outsells the Xbox 360 today."
