Age of Booty, Capcom's multiplayer pirate strategy game, will "soon" (Capcom's official blog indicates an October 16th date) be available on the PlayStation Network Store according to a new post on the PlayStation Blog. The post states that the game will sell for only $9.99 when it launches and will support 8-player online multiplayer (4-player local). A demo will be made available a couple of weeks later, which will expire after a certain time. This may sound unfair, but the demo will allow you to play online, so it all balances out.
We had some time with the game at E3 earlier this year and we enjoyed what we played. It's a real-time strategy game where you are tasked with pillaging coastal villages and removing other pirate threats before they do the same to you. Check the PlayStation Blog for a more in-depth explanation of the game. Age of Booty will ship with a map editor, so if you're the creative type you'll have something a little extra to play with. These maps will be uploadable for other players to download. There are hints that the title will support trophies, even if it hasn't quite been confirmed yet. As always, we'll keep you updated on that.
It's Thursday? Really? Time means nothing here in Tokyo. We've done some phoning around, however, and it turns out the EU PSN Store has been updated. Linger In Shadows is respectfully priced (though we have no idea how much content the "game" includes) and we're definitely looking forward to trying the Valkyria Chronicles demo. A new news item has been posted on the official BioShock website, The Cult Of Rapture. It's short and sweet and says only what we need to know. That being the date when we can expect to grab a vertical slice of the upcoming atmosphere-em-up, BioShock. The demo will be made available (worldwide, no less) on October the 2nd. So you don't have too long to wait before you adventure in Rapture begins. And to think that this time last year we were to-ing and fro-ing between rumors that the game was coming PS3wards and developers who swore it wasn't. We're glad that PS3 owners get an opportunity to experience one of the most impressive games of 2007, even if it is a year later.
Yes, today's European PSN update (which should've been yesterday's update) is late, but it's also pretty good. Finally Europeans get their hands on1942 and all of Rock Band's DLC to date. There're also a few demos and plenty of add-ons for PAIN and Guitar Hero III. Here's the full release list:

Okay, color us confused, but kind of impressed. We were just tipped off that Bionic Commando Rearmed, that awesome current-gen re-imagining of the old Capcom classic, is now available on the European PlayStation Store. "Surely not," we thought. We wrote the European store update up yesterday and BCR was nowhere to be seen.
Nevertheless, the tip was correct. Bionic Commando Rearmed is now available, in both full-game and demo form, on the European PlayStation Store. For UK patrons, you can hookshot the game for £6.99, while those of you who deal in Euros (Brodie-san, we're looking at you) will need to part with €9.99. Nice work SCEE. So, have you bought it yet? Why not? Go get!
