Line of UMD to digital download games to be announced
With tons of former UMD-based PSP games becoming available via digital download on the PS Store, it's very possible that Sony is preparing for a UMD-less future or at least testing to see if digital distribution is a viable option over discs. Games like Gurumin, Fireteam Bravo 2, The Con, Killzone: Liberation, and Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror have all gone this way.
SCEE's Zeno Colaço previously made it quite clear that this is one direction that Sony is taking seriously, and we assume that E3 would be the best soapbox to share their vision with not only the public but with developers looking to make games for the platform.

Unless the cost of the games goes down considerably, then I don't like the idea. I want to have a real disk. I want something tangible.

Right, and a real disk gives you infinite storage space (no deleting games), the ability to EASILY move your games to another hardware piece (replacement after bricking/dropping, friend's, smaller/lighter upgrade, next-gen upgrade), etc.
