Rockstar has just released a new trailer for their upcoming open world racing game, Midnight Club: Los Angeles. But, we have a few problems with the trailer: first, if it's a Midnight Club, shouldn't these races be taking place at night? Secondly, if this really is Los Angeles, how is a driving game possible? Shouldn't players be stuck, crawling through painful smog-filled traffic? Regardless, this should give Burnout Paradise a run for its open-world racing money.

there was barely any traffic and the whole street racing concept seems a bit weak.... the cops would spice it up like any street racing game should have. But there seems to be alot missing if it going up against Burnout Paradise and truthfully it really been put up against Need For Speed.....
when they somewhat introduced it into Underground 2

I believe "Secondly, if this really is Los Angeles, how is a driving game possible? Shouldn't players be stuck, crawling through painful smog-filled traffic?" is referring to no traffic... as in not enough traffic for LA.

I like the sarcasm but for a minute there I thought I was play GTA.. Rockstar needs to step their game up in the graphic dept. Im not trying to take away anything from these guys. Cause Im no developer myself.. But when you lay eyes on the game.. Theres no wow factor.. Making it a typical racing game.. This game looks nothing close as good as Burnout..

No kidding. I was over at a friends house this weekend and he was showing me GTA4 on his 360 and my wife burst out with "The graphics on this stink compared to that Burnout game you're always playing." After playing GTA4 a while myself, I'm not going to bother getting it for my PS3. I didn't like the combat system at all and the driving around was boring compared to Burnout.
I must say though that I found the Xbox controller much more comfortable in my big hands compared to holding my PS3 controller. That said I still don't regret trading the Xbox 360 that I won for a PS3 at Best Buy last November. Best exchange ever. PS3 (60GB) and 2 games for free!

Yeah, Rockstar has never been good at making decent graphics. GTA4 was a letdown for me (regardless of draw distance or anything else people say to excuse it) and this looks worse than Burnout Paradise. If you're copying a game, at least match the graphics quality.

They could call it 'Daylight club' instead, I'm sure nobody would mind too much.

I'm so terribly worried because this trailer reminds a little too much of L.A. Rush which I personally found boring beyond belief. Whatever happened to racing games with crazy shortcuts and physics-defying, time-bending powerups? It was much more fun than this "realistic underground street racing" stuff we've been stuck with lately.

Burnout Paradise is fun no doubt. But the draw to this game would be real cars and tons of customization which is where Burnout falls short. Ill be picking this up day one as long as it has some sort of online mode(s).

Burnout is still better. Even in it's current (Slightly Broken) state.

This graphics give a better sense of a real city than Burnout, which used ps2-style wide-angle lenses to save on processing time, compressing the height of buildings. Forget Little Big P, I'm most amped about this if it's anything like MC III DUB.

Why is PS3fanboy givin bad rep of Midnight club LA. I think it is more realistic then Burnout or Need For Speed. (Idk this is my opinion personally i think that ps3fanboy should actually try one game from the franchise before giving it bad rep.)

We didn't say anything about the quality of the game. We're just making fun of the title.

I think those graphics look really nice. as in "in-game". rock* never has CGI graphx in their trailers, always real gameplay. so wow.

Doesn't stand a chance against Burnout, Criterion's game is so addictive and they just keep adding more and more ways to keep you going back. On top of that it's as smooth as silk, looks great, work's great and shows real passion in the subject.
GTAIV was a big let down for me, very slow frames, very harsh graphics (aliasing/scaling) and poor gameplay. It had it's upsides but I'm waiting for the PC version to do it justice as it was clear none of the consoles could quite pull off what R* wanted to do with IV. I doubt Midnight is going to be anywhere near the quality of Burnout Paradise and besides it already looks hampered with yet more NFS style BS in the cut scenes and premise. Burnout is cool because it stays away from cliche's and immerses you just the same. I don't have much faith in R* to deliver a SMOOTH and FAST game experience which is def needed in a racing game (the past ones were nothing special either).
