Warhawk update v1.4 will hit exactly at 10am GMT (3am PST) on July 16 with quite an amazing lineup of content, including two completely free gameplay modes: "Hero" and "Collection." In Hero mode, an "Epic Hero" is randomly chosen to lead their team to victory; teams gain points by either killing an enemy hero, or killing enemies as the hero. Collection is described by Dylan Jobe as "multi-flag CTF [note CTF = capture the flag]. There are four energy cores scattered around the map, generally positioned in the center or between the two team's main bases. Each team has a Reactor where Energy Cores are taken to score points."
Other such additions include a Quick-join feature which scans for a perfect match based on your preferences, an updated mini-map, changes to Rank & Awards requirements, Minimum Rank server option, update on Home game launching, plus tons more. See the PlayStation.Blog for the full details.

He 'hinted' at a new map pack...
=]
I can't wait for 1.4, 1.5 and beyond.
1.5 = Trophies...and I'm sure the new map pack he 'hinted at' will be soon afterwards...

Just read that on the PlayStation blog. As Peter Griffin once said when he thought Meg was a lesbian:
"That is Awesome!"

Minimum rank server option? Is there any hope for some official level servers returning?

Minimum rank server option is the best one for me. I hardly get a chance to play certain games often and this was one of them. Just the other night I booted up my Airman ranked account and said while fumbling through filters, "Wow.. I wish they had a minimum rank server setting." As a casual player STILL getting the feel of it whenever I have time. I just don't want to play with experienced players looking to cream new players for points.
This has to be one of the best and much needed subtle additions to this game ever.

What you are describing is a maximum rank option, which has existed since launch. The minimum rank option will allow players to create servers that will keep the n00bs out.
The only thing more frustrating than being a newbie that is being slaughtered by vetrans, is being a vetran stuck on a team of newbies.

You said it best man. I like the game BUT my biggest problem with it(i jus got this game saturday) is me a noobie to this game vs. an all star pro. I hate it, its not fair. Its like gettin thrown into a war without any basic combat training(actually this is exactly what it is for us new comers.) Hopefully they will do something about this. In the mean while ill stick to MGO until the weekend. (that when ill play Warhawk again to somewhat get better.....sigh...) Anyways great update for warhawk i say.

@CuSztOm16: Just make sure to only join the servers with the lowest maximum rank requirement. Then you will only be playing with people who are also (relatively) new to the game.

Exactly, IDK why everyone is crying about it, like the 360 is getting is exclusively or something, it's not even fully multiplatform (Japan has it exclusive) My god people learn to share.

This is great news, Sony does love us after all! I am really starting to get back into Warhawk too. it's one of those games u can pick up when ever u feel like it. And, FF13 will be weaker on the 360 anyway, with the little production time SE has to port it.

Yea it is great news for Warhawk owners. Gives me even more incentive to play the game longer. I really want to try that Hero Mode thing.
Also, about FF13 for the 360, I don't think it'll be much different from the PS3 version. SE said they're aiming to keep the 2 versions the same but may have to compress the FMVs and Sound to make it fit on the DVDs for the X360. PS3 version will be better, but unless you have a good sound system and a nice big HDTV, it shouldn't matter.
Seeing as I DO have the HDTV and audio system due to my love for watching blu-ray movies and playing PS3 games to it's fullest, I'm getting the PS3 version.
