Six more titles have popped up on the Japanese PSN. Two most of note are from Square Enix. One being a pretty good game in Brave Fencer Musashi and the other being the abysmal Ehrgeiz which is only interesting for the cameo FFVII characters. The other four games are b.l.u.e. Legend of Water, Raycrisis, Wizard's Harmony R, and Aquanaut's Holiday: Memories of Summer 1996.
A game like Ehrgeiz might be a game that's good to pick up for collectors and Final Fantasy freaks. This blogger owned the Japanese version back in the day and it's quite English friendly as most fighting games are. Just remember, to buy games off the Japanese store you need a Japanese account and a Japanese PSN card to load funds.

Musashi needs a sequel that doesn't suck.

And once I have said PS1... that or just use my 60GB PS3, where do you believe that I'm going to easily find PS1 games in 2008?

Oh my god. Ehrgeiz was actually put on the PS Store. Please, please, please, please bring it over here. I know Ehrgeiz isn't the best fighter, but I still love it.

Also, Ehrgeiz definitely isn't "abysmal". Nothing about it is terrible and was pretty inventive for its time.

It.. was pretty horrible. Brave Fencer Musashi, on the other hand, was awesome. Here's hoping for a US PSN release.

Hey! I liked Ehrgeiz too. The adventure mode was quite a bit of fun. Who knew that wine market trading could be so much fun?! Seriously though, it was a fun game.

Yea it wasnt the most detailed fighter back then, but it was fun back then using Cloud or sephiroth...
Man what a throwback that is... wth man... why no US love???
I would get this game just for the trip down memory lane again.

Even though I own the games, having them release brave fencer in europe (shame on you square for not bringing that, xenogears and chrono cross over from the US localisation) would mean I could play these on my PSP which would be cool.

Just went on the Japanese PSN store and counted. There are now 214 PS1 games. Just for kicks, I decided to count the US and European PS1 games, 22 and 26 respectively.
As angry as I am about this huge difference, I realize there must be some business-related reason behind it. Reasons I've been able to fantasize: SCEJ is closer to all the other Japanese companies' headquarters so it's quicker and easier to make negotiations; SCEA and SCEE is looking in a different direction and focusing mostly on crappy multiplayer first person shooters, trying to copy Xbox 360's library instead of looking to past games for success; Squaresoft and Nintendo of America have a "thing."
Well, screw both SCEA and SCEE. I know juuuust enough Japanese to play Brave Fencer Musashi, and I've played MGS1 so many times that it doesn't matter that it's in Japanese. If only I had the guts to spend money on Xenogears....

More stuff fro the Japanese while Europe twiddles its thumbs.
I actually liked the Dungeon Crawling RPG that nobody ever remebers, hidden behind the main game. It was kind of a dry run for Vagrant Story.
I already ripped my PS1 copy of the game last year, so there's another game I would have happily bought again for my PSP that Sony will never see a sale for.
