Ignore the already disheartening news that Buzz! Quiz TV will need a patch in order to activate trophies within the game, despite press releases announcing firmware 2.40 failing to mention it. Buzz! fans are now also up in arms about the evolution (or rather devolution) of one of their favorite franchises. Despite the official trailer showing off "Sofa-vs-Sofa" gameplay, allowing two people on one PS3 to play against another two people online, this feature is not actually available within the game. Playing online is restricted to one-person per console.
Not only that, but online play is considered very short and many game modes and customization features are now missing, having been removed since earlier Buzz! titles on the PS3. Also, despite MyBuzzQuiz.com being a potentially awesome method of creating and playing free user-generated DLC, questions from the service are not playable in the main-game and must be used separately. The forums are abuzz (pardon the pun) with criticisms and people are very much looking forward to a response from Relentless.

Who would be interested enough in this crap to be 'up in arms' about it?

I was thinking the same thing but I suppose everyone is different so to each their own.
Buzz could come with free cake and a lapdance and I wouldn't pick it up*
*lie - I'd be all over that stripper-cake and you know it.

Here's what stands inn Relentless website:
We're excited to be among the first Blu-Ray games to support Sony's new Trophies feature, which is present in the new 2.40 System Software. We created the master disc for Buzz!: Quiz TV over two months ago and at that time the Trophy functionality wasn't finalised so we couldn't get it on the shipped disc.
"Since then we've added trophy support and created an update which should be showing up online sometime in the middle of July. The game will auto-update itself when the new update becomes available.
2nd July 2008"

I thought Buzz! QuizTV would be cool, but as much as it is fun for a quick play I feel that it could have been so much more.
I was looking forward to the Sofa Vs Sofa play, but now it is one on one I feel that was quite a letdown. I was kinda disappointed how custom content cannot be used in the main game as well, as well as the fact that each quiz you make has only 8 questions in it..sure you can make a playlist, but it's not the same.
I doubt Relentless will have any comments about it either, it seems to be standard practice to say nothing when customers are unhappy these days...

Well as I've only played the original music only version of Buzz on a PS2 the inital impact was great for me - different round types, wireless buzzers.
Sofa-2-sofa was initially good fun, playing some random people, but totally agree about not allowing more than 1 player to play per PS3...dont think we'll play this much.
Online - yep, what a let down, only 8 questions, no ability to include pictures etc (although that would just add to copyright worries).
No moderation of quizzes before they get posted means I'm sure we'll end up with lots of rubbish, people posting incorrect answer quizzes and so on.
...don't people feel they have kept this simple just so you'll be encouraged to buy the Buzz addon packs?

I am enjoying playing this, obviously it not the best game in the world but take it for what it is, a fun game I have played online and enjoyed the experience. All in all a good game,

I've got buzz for ps3. Yes the sofa vs sofa is limited to one person per console but I've been playing user generated quizzes in normal online game mode all week. It's great stuff. The length of the games is pitched perfectly too.
I would like more gamemodes for sure but it has managed to get my gf interested in the ps3 and online play is great. Servers are not the most reliable though I should add.

Buzz is pretty much ok. A lot of wasted potential but the biggest complaint for me is the German translation. It is amongst the worst ever. Jokes that are completely ruined although they would have been easy to translate. Sentences that do not fit the situation and just plain wrong statements plus a pronunciation of names (Films, Bands, Actors) that sometimes hurts the ears... i mean if i don't know how to pronounce something i need about 5 Minutes maximum to find out... the translating studio didn't take that effort obviously... and just made a pronunciation up which ends up wrong a lot of times...

Its way too short online. No cosutmization whatsoever.
It could have been so much more - there better be some major updates or this will be my last Buzz-investment.

Glad PS3 fanboy listened to me & ran the story!
The biggest disappointment for me is playing online, after just 4 games the questions started getting repeated, by gane 8 nearly half of them were repeats!
it seems like there's only 24 questions per subject when online!

I've got Buzz TV on the PS3. I reckon its OK. One of the best things is that the wireless buzzers also work with the previous PS2 versions of the game. (We were anticipating this and had bought the previous buzz games without buzzers when they were on special).
I haven't looked at the online bit yet, but I sure hope that they fix the one on one internet play!

eventhough i do not really care about the online (except the thing that you are able to buy new questions/channels?) i feel, that they choosed online before more questions and more varied game modes (pass the bomb etc.) and what it seems like they havent been able to do such a good job about it. I'm hopefull they will use the patch functionality, to fix this.

Personally, it's my first Buzz! title and me and my family absolutely love it, yes I'd like to use more than one buzzer in sofa vs. sofa, I would like trophies but it doesn't detract from the fact that it is an absolutely fantastic game.

This buzz is sh*t, Sofa vs Sofa isn't actually sofa vs sofa if only person can sit on the sofa. Having an 8 player online game with teams of up to something like 4 is the way it should be. Nothing but disappointed with this game. I hope a patch comes along soon that fixes the online.
