Sony's Strategy presentation today revealed more than just a video download service. Some other little tid-bits of info spilled out as well. Firstly, as seen above, White Knight Story is aiming to be out this fiscal year. That means sometime between now and April 2009. No doubt we'll be seeing more of the game, as well as a less-vague release date at E3 next month.
A weather and news service was also revealed as part of a new Life With PlayStation brand. This will feature an interactive globe showing real time weather reports and headlines from all over the world. This feature will also support geo-tagged photos (awesome) and other features which will be released over time. Again, we'll probably hear more about this whole Life With PlayStation brand at E3.
Finally, it's been confirmed that the PSP will gain direct access to the PlayStation Store at some point during this fiscal year. Sadly, there are no more details than that. While this is definitely getting us excited for E3, we have to wonder whether Sony are keeping back any actual surprises for the event. Is it possible that they could have all this and more to reveal to us next month?

Can't wait to not have to hook my PSP up to my PS3 everytime I want to download a game or demo!

Huh? You don't have to have your PSP hooked up to your PS3 when you download that stuff.
That's the whole reason I ignore the PC store and only download PSP stuff through my PS3... because then I can copy it to my PSP at my leisure.

Sorry... not download, TRANSFER.
I am looking forward to being able to access the PS Store via my PSP.

Ah, yes, it would be cool to wirelessly transfer games/demos... or just directly download them (though I like to keep a copy on my PS3, so I'd prefer the first option).
Not a huge deal for me though, because I always keep a mini-USB cable dangling from my PS3 for charging controllers or my phone, or transferring stuff to/from devices, etc.

I say they require you to log in everytime that way if someone goes ape shit and steals your PSP then they won't also get a bunch of free downloaded games if your account is set up....
Just a thought

That's actually a setting... U could put it auto and just buy what u want anytime.
There is a setting where you are asked for a password to buy things.. I put mine like that.. don't be trusting the kids with my PS3!!!

WHOA. A news service via a spinning globe? Innovative! I can't wait! What next, a motion-sensing contr-- oh yeah, lol.
I love Sony. Take the best ideas and make them better. :)

Hahahahaha.
People were making fun of Nintendo for doing the News and Weather stuff on the Wii, but now they're excited about it for the PS3. I know this will probably be downvoted, but I'm not a fanboy, I'm just stating this funny situation~

Hasn't Nintendo done the same? otherwise we would still be using cartridges...

Personally I'd like to see RSS feed support on the PS3 also. The weakling PSP has it.

lol i thought it was hilarious too. even as a huge Sony fan, people are such hypocrites! my Wii already has an interactive spinning globe with tags on it as well as weather.....and i use neither. sure it looks cool but by the time i boot up my Wii and the channels, i could have just gone to weather.com or the AP site. whatever, pile on the features Sony, cant really complain about free stuff.

But the graphics on that spinning globe will TOTALLY PWN the one on the Wii.

Well, I'm hoping they make it better.. I used the news thing on the Wii for all of two days. It's just a pain to track and lacking in content. And don't get me started on the Forecast Channel - I should say Backcast Channel, since it's showing what the weather was 8 or 9 hours ago. :\
And Popfrogs, I totally agree. I am confused why RSS support is missing from the PS3, especially given the fact that it's hooked up to a TV, has a hard drive, and always has a power source... I'd love it if my PS3 could be set to download the Totally Rad Show, Diggnation, 1UP Yours, and other shows like that automatically.
Another thing that the PS3 is missing is that cool video feature where you can skip ahead with thumbnails every 30 seconds, 1 minute, etc. Come on, Sony, feature-sync that PS3!

Fanboy Rule #1
Bash anything that your console doesn't have but the other one does and when your console gets it its a great idea and totally innovative.
Rule #2
Always look like a moron.
