No.. that's actually quite true.. considering how many accounts 1 person can have, and the fact that they're all free.

Looks like if you've ever "signed" up for xbl, you'll be included in the 10 mil figure.

Currently XBL is sitting around.. 14-16million.

Just imagine how many more sales they could get if they could get third parties to release classic ps1 games on the psn.

That's 9.8 million accounts, not 9.8 million people. Lots of people have 2 or more accounts to download demos from other countries.

No they don't. Lots of obsessive players do (such as those that visit here) but hardly anyone else has more than one account. You seem to be viewing yourself as the majority, which is clearly not the case.

The numbers do suggest only about 6million unique IPs though, so consoles with multiple usrs probably are a factor.

I know very few people who actually have two or more accounts. Those are both extremely casual and extremely hardcore players that I know personally.
Multiple accounts does have an impact but it is not that huge of a difference.

I have a couple American accounts, 1 Europe account, and 1 Asian account.
So I can download those over seas demo's.
(don't think my Asian account works anymore)
Sorry to say but those numbers are meaningless.

So divide by 3 because of multiple accounts for the number of people using the PSN.
I jest.

Well considering you're including your brother, it's not the same thing XD. Also, XBL can be factored in a lot less do to monthly fees... So it would only make sense that their numbers are more spot on with how many individuals are on live.

The same could be said for 360s sales on the consoles. How many of their numbers are people that have run out of warranty or voided theirs some how and had to buy a completely new console because the thing RROD on them? I always thought that was funny.
