This new Sonic Unleashed gameplay trailer looks... awesome. It has all the makings of a 90s great Sonic game -- speed, color and more speed. The stage design is classic Sonic and the visuals look gorgeous. Can this be the Sonic game to revitalize the aging franchise? After the glitches and control problems with Sega's last attempt on the PS3, did we run out of optimism for the beloved blue video game icon? We're keeping our fingers crossed.

I don't see how you can lose in this game. He pretty much runs through everything. Looks pretty sweet though. I just hope there's loads of levels of this quality.

Now that's a Sonic game! This one has speed too and nothing to slow you down.
Alan Tsang? That's a new name...did one of the bloggers change their name? If not, I welcome the new blogger. Yo!

The game looks fine and all, but whatever happened to controlling Sonic? The trailer makes it look like you can run into everything without having to do anything or worry about dying.

Not only that but it looks like the actual controlling thats done is done by an onscreen prompt telling you which way to turn. Then when you when have to turn, instead of you moving with Sonic, his position changes and you stay with the same camera reference... kinda like those really old top down scrolling formula 1 racers... I want a faster, Sonic Adventure with more pure speed parts like the extremely fast running sequences in Sonic PS3 and ofcourse alot LESS slow parts (almost none... I could live with no slow parts). And a Sonic bound camera... that turns when you turn Sonic. Instead of some sort of script turning camera based on the map or a rail camera (that this new Sonic game has).

wow talk about speed I did see a couple x commands and if this is true speed of the game at 60 fps then my old eyes will need a tune up just to play the game....... lol I also think as some other poster stated where is the control. he seems to run through everything and with very few player input, unless it was so fast i wasnt able to see the on screen commands. the game looks great and even looks like fun lets hope it keeps up with exspectations and delivers what its claiming. I will be catouis until seen for myself though.

it looks like you actually do a whole lot of nothing. And you can't even just explore the design (which is impressive). It's just goes by in a second.
Also, i'm not a fan of the "Real" environments. why do they stray from making something just out-there and new? be inventive! i don't want to see him running through real cities.

The only problem I see with this is that this is how every first sonic level is in every game, full of fast paced speed and such. I hope the entire game is as fluid as this at it is so impressive to just watch this (music though :( )

From the trailer, they should call this one "Sonic goes to Spain". I've never seen so many tiled rooftops in my life.
And by the way, it does look pretty awesome. Sonic didn't die because someone good was playing but I saw plenty of places to get hurt/lose rings/die.

Please take Sonic out of the real world! Sonic doesn't belong in the real world. What happened to the zone levels/stages?
I miss the zones. Sonic doesn't need to be in Europe or any other part of the world. Zones! Zones! Zones! Bring back the Zones!

How about restarting the entire game with pure side scrolling and some Odin sphere graphics? > _ >
And yes, I hate the real world environments! Bring back big robo cities, the forests, the jungles, the ruins, the volcanoes, the deserts, so on and so forth!
This is why the only Sonic games I still play are 1, 2, 3 and S&K and the gameboy advance ones from time to time

If it's all just quicktime events, meh. And that music gets on my nerves just for that short duration, but I assume they'll have other tracks (or custom soundtracks?!).
Other than that, looks f'n sweet!

Looks like a few elements right out of Ratchet And Clank. Namely the rail grinding and the skydiving section. Looks pretty good especially after the last Sonic debacle.

.. The rail grinding which was like exactly like this in Sonic Adventure 2 on the Dreamcast a year before Ratchet & Clank even existed? :)
