There will be a Civilization Revolution demo out this Thursday as part of this week's regularly scheduled PSN update. Since the title has been pushed back to July 8 instead of coming out on its original June 3 release, the folks at Firaxis and 2K Games thought it would be a good idea to give you something to play while waiting the extra month. The demo has two forces, Rome and Egypt. It also comes packed in with a tutorial for those new to the turn-based strategy game.
This demo sounds a lot like the one we've played previously, so perhaps you might want to read our hands-on impression to get ready for this Thursday. Also, if you're really interested in Civilization Revolution, then you better watch our video interview with the creator himself, Sid Meier.

Yeah, I was kind of surprised the Wii wasn't getting anything (besides Wii Fit) because I doubt the casual crowd is all that ecstatic about MGS4.
But I am way too psyched for MGS4!!! MIDNIGHT RELEASE, BABY!

I won't be as lucky as you to get it by midnite because I don't live in the US but I'll get it the week after :D

Is this going to be released as part of the Qore launch making it unaccessible to those who don't pay? I thought that was this week too.

No, this is not part of Qore. It's not like there aren't going to be any demos on the regular store updates anymore. Qore is just additional exclusive content.

Oooh them are fighting words to me. I challenge you to game of WarCraft III Frozen Throne...although I need about 3 other people for a good free for all. I'll give this game a go hopefully it can stave me off until Starcraft comes...and oh how it will bring it.

Hmmm.... I wonder, as an avid player of CivIV on PC, will the PS3 version bring me any content value worth paying another $50-$60 for a console version?

Having played Civ4 into the ground, and spent a few hours on this PS3 demo, I can say with confidence that if you love Civ4, you won't love the PS3 Civilization: Revolutions game.
I like both, though; and what I like about the PS3 game is the more rapid pace, the simplified system (happiness management is far less of an issue), and some of the new gimmicks (like "great region" discoveries, where you can name bits of the land). I think it's more suitable for 13-year-olds, but it definitely satisfies the Civ game craving.
