The first downloadable
Penny Arcade adventure is coming soon to Xbox Live Arcade, Mac, Linux and PC. Why is it not coming out on PSN? Simple: the Torque Game Engine isn't compatible with the PS3, at least not yet. It was always intended to bring the game over to PS3, explained a representative from Hot Head Games. However, the engine's lack of support for Sony's console made it impossible to make it multiplatform.
The Torque Game Engine is commonly used for Xbox Live Arcade games because it is a low-cost solution for developers that can't invest in other options, such as the Unreal Engine. Downloadable titles need to keep their costs low, especially when developed by independent teams. For now, it seems as though
Penny Arcade Adventures won't find a home on the PS3.

Oh noes I am cry for not getting a game based on a comic series that sucker punches Sony/PS3 any chance they can get- even when said topics are debunked/dismissed/retracted/resolved before their posting.
Seems more suited for PC anyway after seeing videos.

You are definitely right, although the demo came out in North America a while back, so this is not news. What the hell are they trying to pull by lying to PS3 users? We're not stupid. Penny Arcade am fail.

I was actually a bit sad to lose this game on PSN and was planning to get the Linux version as a replacement. That was until I read latest Edge today and saw they giving it a 4.

2 things are stopping me. First, installing Linux requires an HDD wipe Im not willing to deal with. Second, $20 for 1/5th a game is pretty rediculous.

im still not really sure what this game is honestly. i mean i see post with people raving about it all the time but it hasnt interested me enough to go take a look at what it's all about.
and isnt the PS3 a Linux based system anyway? and isnt it coming out on Linux? whats stopping someone from running Linux on their PS3 and playing this game that way? where there is a will, there is a way.

Jesus, what is with all the PA haters here? I've followed the strip since the beginning, and I appreciate the humor. I really like Tycho's writing style. If I buy the game (and I probably will, eventually), it will be because I like his writing style.
But there's not some Universal True Writing Style (or Humor Style for that matter). If it doesn't strike you as funny, well, I'm very sorry you don't appreciate it, but no one is going to make you read it. I don't "get" Homestar Runner, but I'm not *angry* that they're making a game -- I'm just not going to buy it.

I enjoy the comic. Comic's aren't always supposed to be funny, sometimes they are simply entertaining. It has its days and it is free.
I can't say the same for this game.
$20?
Pass.
