Well technically speaking, it wasn't Solid Snake in MGS3 too. So it could, theoretically, still be within the realm of the "MGS" series with another character/Snake.

i believe it wont be another mgs for ps3 but a new game on the psp with kojima statement saying he think the psp is a great platform and he would like to work on its.This statement was made this year

I liked him. He was a good villian and actually had really good motives, therefore making him a non-villian, but one that you had to kill anyway.

Listen more carefully to the trailers released today, and you will have at least a sliver of hope that he didn't really go. Remember, MGS is the series where people refuse to die. Who would have thought Liquid would be back? Did you really see Solidus die? I recall him being seriously injured, and then cutting to the next scene. How odd, unless this was deliberate.

Given that Solid Snake received all the dominant genes from Big Boss, they are essentially the same person...so in a weird retrospective way, Big Boss is Solid Snake...maybe?

Wow.. somebody missed the whole theme and point of Metal Gear Solid. The theme from MGS was "Gene" and the point was that your genes don't define your fate.
Maybe it is time to replay that one.. you've got a month before MGS4.

Pretty sure throughout the whole game liquid thought solid had the dominant genes, then the twist at the end was that it was acually liquid who was perfect, and solid had the recessive.
This could be proof that some people didn't bother to finish the game and just say they did for being in on the MGS4 uproar.
Annoys me when people do that to become part of something that so many others have been part of for years :(
