Geez, people may not realize it but the programming involved to make something like this is intense. Never seen anything like it before.

I think what likely happened was that someone touched the checkpoint, then the sackboy (for some reason I feel weird saying that) spawned there, so that he keeps up with the group.

I am trying my best to see whats so good about this game.....it looks like complete garbage to me :/ and a total waste of time IMO. I guess this is a case of different strokes for different folks....hats off to the people that dig this sort of stuff.

I keep trying to figure out what it is about this game that you hate... perhaps because it isn't a shooter? O_o I dunno, I'm excited for it - but why are you so down on it? (as opposed to being down with it)

I can't seem to put my fingure on it.....the only think I can think of is that this game is just not my cup of tea. It has so much hype surrounding it...and I can't see why.

Well, LBP isn't going to suit everyone, but you can say that about all games really.
For me, I enjoy platform games, so that's one thing that makes me interested. The characters you play, can show some great emotions, and can also have their looks customised. This will be incredibly fun during co-operative/network play.
The environment in LBP is realised through a top-notch physics engine. That makes solutions to puzzles much more intriguing. You can literally drag and arrange your environment as much as your imagination (and the physics) allow.
Then there's the level creation. Even if you're not into creating levels yourself, you can download and play levels created by others. I'm guessing that there will be plenty of game-themed levels. So pick your favourite game, and then go search for a level created by someone, as a tribute to that game. Then play it. It'll be fun. Who knows, other game companies may even create their own LBP levels, as part of a marketing campaign to promote their products.
The whole LBP environment is so flexible and looks like so much fun, that I think Sony should do away with their forever delayed Home, and make LBP the new Home. Then you can run around in your new SackHome, showing off your SackTrophies, playing your mini-SackGames, having SackChats with your SackFriends. It probably won't take any longer to create than the current Home system.

@RagingStormX: I can understand. From my standpoint (having gamed as far back as 1975) I'm used to games being totally different from each other. That's why I don't get overly excited about shooters, although I did make levels for Wolf3d, Duke3d, Doom, and Quake. I suppose a game like LBP might put some people off, but I'm actually most looking forward to creating levels. I'd like to see what the physics engine is capable of and see if it's possible to make some environment-based puzzles off of it. I always liked platformers, so even if the level creation isn't too great, I can always just play. The other thing that intrigues me is the devs desire to create a real community for this game. I hate games where players are looking to one-up each other - I play games to relax, not get stressed or be uber competitive. That's why the 360 never interested me. Too much bragging and dikk-waving in that circle for me. Besides, I'd rather play a game like LBP or Echochrome than something like Halo any day. Then again, I'm almost 40 and very strange. So, what the heck do I know? =D

That's one of many possible reasons why the game has not released yet. Remember: they have until the fall to remedy such things. Don't start nickpicking yet! =D

Am I the only person who looks at this game and thinks 'What the hell is going on, but I want in!'?

I'm probably anticipating this game more than any other. Maybe it's the platform lover in me. Or the aestethic. Or the fact that it just looks like a bucket of fun and will be a welcome moratorium from shooting people in the face in COD4.
Is anyone else walking around IRL and seeing "red dots" when they look at people and thinking: "+10 right there. And he wouldn't even see it coming." ?
