Waiting for the oft-delayed Home service has been frustrating for PlayStation fans worldwide. However, we were surprised to hear comments from former Xbox boxx Peter Moore, echoing the sentiments that many PS3 owners have. Currently president of EA Sports, Moore told Eurogamer.net "I just wish [Home] would ship ... I [previously] questioned it a little bit, whether I'd want to wander around there. Phil Harrison showed me a demo – it's very cool, but let's go already. And so I'm disappointed that it's been pushed back a little bit again."Although Home was on display at PlayStation Day, Kaz Hirai reiterated that it would not be released until it's done. Some commenters have joked that Home would release after the notoriously delayed Duke Nukem Forever.
Many PS3 owners are counting on the release of Home to deliver an enhanced online experience on the PSN, one that rivals the for-pay Xbox Live service. Moore's comments are most likely very similar to the consensus from the development community as well -- people need Home to release, and soon. "I really hope it gets going and becomes that portal to the PlayStation Network and we can utilise it. But boy, I just wish we'd get going."

Exactly, I think we all wish it was out, but what's realistic/best? There's no way that it won't be out by at-most Xmas since that's when Sony is really going to be pushing out releases, so that helps with knowing the time frame......I just wish they could get it out by the end of summer or sometime near there......

It's all Kotaku's fault. If those self-important morons hadn't gone public with the details of HOME's existence that Sony were keeping under wraps then we wouldn't have been waiting for as long as we have (as we probably would only have found out about this recently).

When Kotaku broke it (I'm not even sure it was them) HOME was scheduled to drop LAST October. If you don't want to learn about the latest going ons, get of the internetz.
Haz needs to go. He's been on the gig for only a couple of months and everything has been delay upon delay.

when i saw home on a magazine i was like sweet no way then went out to buy a ps3 the next month then i played blah blah then remember about home and it was delayed then look for grand theft auto delayed im like ah! so at least 50 percent of what i want out of my ps3 is done

I just heard the latest news update from SCEE, developers of Home and Kaz Hirai himself officially announced that "Home" will be DELAYED once again and may be released by 2009. Home is becoming more and more like Homo as the years go by and im loving it.

Waiting for EA Sports to get some decent PS3 developers so their sports games run at 1080p at 60fps on the PS3.
I think I will put my money on Home being released before EA Sports figures out how to develop for the PS3.

the comment sorry i forgot the dollar sign. so ps3 customers that bought it at its initial launch price. only to have it dropped less than a year later. those people recognized the value of the ps3 and understood its cost and worth. they should be the first allowed in the beta

It's pretty simple. They need to cut back on the features, release the basic product, and then release updates that add the features they wanted. Geez Sony, do you want to hire me as a product manager?
As long as they get the basic features right, then it should still be pretty good. That's the real trick to the situation. Choosing the basic features to concentrate on, that will still give Home an enthralling experience. Personally, I think they're already there, after watching beta videos of Home. Now they just need to make it stable and scalable, and then release it.
