Not really... I actually sold the two Blu Ray Disk's that were bundled with my PS3 for a tenner each at Play.com, got myself a £20 discount for the GTA Special Edition. XD

id love to play blu-ray on my PS3, but its kinda pointless since i don't have an HD tv.
In '06 the decision was between buying a 32inch 720p or a Ps3. Went with the latter option, and must say, best decision of the year.
But i do have an HD computer moniter, so once BD players for PC drop in price, and there is some good software to play Bluerays, Ill will run out and get the Spider-man trilogy.

Lol, an HD monitor? Lol. As in "it is able to display 1920x1080"? Most of them are, you know?

Not exactly. You see PC monitors, like HD Tellys, need to be hdcp compliant in order to playback or burn blu-rays/hd-dvds. Finding a monitor that can display that resolution is not only costly, it is tricky also. My 24" monitor has a resolution of 1900x1200, but does not have hdcp support, so unfortunately, like most PC users, I cannot playback hd movies.

Uhhh...not quite, if you have a monitor that is about 20 inches or so, then yes you'll be getting a 1680x1050 which will give you 16:10 HD.
@ Afr
Its not until you move to 23+ that you get 1900x1200. Also, in all honesty, just about any monitor made in the last year that has a DVI/HDMI in is going to be HDCP certified. I bought my samsung 21" about 2.5 years ago, and the very next year they had basically the same model w/ HDCP.

I have a 50 inch flat screen and a surround sound system.... I try not to settle for anything but Blu-Ray, but if it's not available at the store or for rental (preferably rental), then I'll pop in a DVD.
I usually wait for the Amazon Buy 2 get 1 Free sales, and most my movies are from the first Buy 1 Get 1 free Blu Ray sale they had. If it weren't for Amazon, I wouldn't have anything besides the five free movies that came with my PS3. These things are just too costly at most retailers.

Personally I have no desire to own BD. I have VHS movies that are all but useless and my DVD collection is headed the same route. I can't see adding a third format that will eventually become obsolete. Digital distribution is what interests me. Anyone wanna buy some video tapes?

Meh, I have a lot of bd movies but my purchase for them have been nil as of late w/ the increase in prices for everything. $4.05 for a gallon of gas now! SHEESH! Of course, some movies are reasonable ($19-25), but some of the old ones or popular ones are still priced at $29.99-34.99. This is at retail btw. Amazon sometimes have them for much less or throw in a BOGO here and there, though I haven't seen a good deal from them recently.

I still don't own any BDs for my PS3 and I have both an HDTV and a 7.1 system. I just rather play games.
I dont buy movies in any other format though. If I were buying movies, they'd be BD. I am waiting for Advent Children.
