This Metal Gear Solid trailer has some humble beginnings, showing off footage from the classic PS1 title and Wii's Super Smash Bros. Brawl. But then it does something completely unexpected. We see Young Snake sneaking around in a completely remastered Shadow Moses. Could it be? Is Metal Gear Solid being remade in MGS4? Perhaps not the entire game, but it's likely we'll see a few playable segments from Snake's earlier adventures. This would be an incredible homage to a hero who's time has likely come.

It just keeps getting better and better. I am on a personal mission to play and finish the entire series before getting MGS4.
Just beat 3, MG, MG2 and I'm currently on MGS. This looks totally awesome. Especially considering MG/MG2 were in 8-bit where you have to use a LOT of imagination for them to blend in to the current crop of games lol.

I had read there would be a number of "flashbacks" to past games in the series. Perhaps they are playable flashbacks??

I'd love to see a re-imagining and re-release of Metal Gear I & II,... I dunno, call it Metal Gear Solid: Prelude or Metal Gear Solid: The Rise and Fall of Big Boss, or something... basically blend the very basic storylines from I and II, and completely redo the opening of the series. They could do an amazing job of storytelling and character analysis dealing with inner turmoil of Big Boss, and the rookie snake... Hell, it'd be kick ass if you could play as Big Boss in the credits prelude (I'd imagine he'd look just like 'Old Snake' but with a beard), look you already have the character models :).

Well in the other trailer they showed REX, along with RAY. I'm guessing Snake would revisit Alaska to investigate. But I doubt they actually recreated the entire original MGS for next-gen pleasure. But you never know. Or it could also be like a dream sequence like the zombie game and the Sorrow's level in MGS3.
It would be nice to see another MGS remake. But I rather they spend their remake time on the Metal Gear "without Solid" series.

It'll almost certainly only be a few key points from the origional game (and perhaps MGS2 too) working as flashbacks. MGS2 had very brief 'flashbacks' too, but used the origional game footage and so looked very out of place.
BUT it would be incredibly cool if a remastered version of MGS1 did come with the new game. MGS4, MGO, and MGS1 (Uber Edition), all for only £45 and on one disc? Count me in. (Not that I wasn't already in at only MGS4...)
