Much like Niko,
echochrome's faceless protagonist arrives in the Land of the Free this week, ready to make a new life for himself and hopefully find his way out of his various labyrinthine prisons. Of course, he'll need your help to do so. If you're not too busy playing
GTA IV, that is. For ten bucks,
echochrome is a no-brainer for anyone who likes feeling mentally challenged. Here's the full release list:
Playable content
Add-on Content
- Rock Band DLC (listed after the break)
- Many Karaoke Revolution: AIE songs ($1.50 a piece - Check the PS.Blog for full details)
Rock Band and
Karaoke Revolution continue their scary reign as King and Queen of DLC (we'll leave you to decide which is which). As for whether this is a clever time to be releasing a highly-anticipated game, when
GTA IV came out only two days ago, we'll leave that up to you too. Choice can never be a bad thing, we suppose.

I've posted this before, but here it is again:
Hello again,
PixelJunk Monsters Encore was intended to be released in the West on
April 24th but a few hiccups in the submission/debugging process
delayed
it a couple of weeks. We now have our fingers crossed that it will
make it onto the US store by May 8th, and the EU/Australia version
should
only be a week or two after that. (it takes a little extra time to
prepare the translations for all those countries in the EU!)
Anyway, the launch in Japan has been a great success and they are
getting a slight head start on the global ranking tables but you
should be
able to soon catch up with them.
We've even heard from a couple of people who have already managed to
clear it and see the rather special bonus extra we prepared.
In other news PixelJunk Eden is moving along in leaps and bounds
(literally), and you never know, it might be an under-the-radar Summer
hit!
(well, we can dream, right?)
Regards
Dylan Cuthbert

Soon as I saw that Echochrome was coming out today, I knew they weren't releasing Pixel Junk Monsters Encore, which is really a shame.

Is this new? Cause I got it a few weeks ago...or is it another 'behind-the-scenes' vid?

I don't think you realize what you've just said. And if you did, I lol in your general direction.

Was going to get Echocrome but after playing the demo I decided to hold off. The game is ok, not great.

Yeah, I tried the demo and wasn't that excited, either. What annoyed me was the controls--movement doesn't feel fluid enough and it's more frustrating trying to position things than it should be. Sixaxis control might have actually worked better than the existing configuration, honestly. The fast movement was too fast, while the slow was far too slow. Maybe it's just me, but that was enough to put me off the game.

Frank,
You do know that you can pause your character in-game, right? This causes him to "think", allowing you to configure the perspective to how you want before he will continue in his direction, so you're losing me on the whole walking "too fast" / "too slow" thing.....
I like how the controls are precise and accelerate exponentially allowing me to line up columns or make slight perspective adjustments for things like jumps, but that's just me so.......

You Guys are aware that you can use the sixaxis in the game? you hold r1 and you can tilt the controller to move the board around.

You have an incredibly limited, shitty taste in music if you're being serious.

Oh, I'm getting fed up with this "release to USA first" regime.
If the game industry had monopoly on news as well, we in europe would have gotten the news about the Enron scandal just about now i guess.
