For starters, how about this interview with Sid Meier, the creator of the Civilization series. The man took time out of his busy schedule to give us an interview, answer our questions, and talk about the upcoming Civilization Revolution. We won't say much else, so we'll let Sid take it from here. Enjoy the interview!

honestly - what is so bad about mandatory installs? you wait 5-20 minutes when you first by the game, and then after that, your load times are greatly reduced. last summer i played ninja gaiden sigma without the install and then later chose to install and was very happy when i did. are people really THAT impatient?? you cant wait another few minutes when you first buy a game so that the rest of the experience is much more fluid? i used to hate load times, and sony has finally found a solution and all i hear online is people bi***ing about it.....

this debate happens every day somewhere. the main problem is not the time it takes to install but the space, especially if you have a 20 or 40 gig HD. 5 gig installs are happening these days and only being able to save your data for 4 games is absurd.

i dont see the need to complain about disc space at all whatsoeever for game installs
HDD Game Installing is a privaledge not other consoles have. The disadvantage of this privaledge is only being able to install 5-10 games, which just comes with the territory.
Its like complaining about how many MPG you get when your driving in a Ferrari...

I prefer the installs, especially because they make the load times shorter and even shorter than on the other console. You can go out and buy a 320 GB HDD for under $150 if you really want to worry about the space it takes up. I just delete game data, not game saves, as I no longer play a game. And I still am at 35 GB of my 60.

His point about the issue with mods being with Sony and MS is only half right. We all know Sony is more than willing to allow downloadable mods onto the console, as seen by UTIII, it's MS that won't allow it, and we are getting screwed because of it.

or or or.. You could get a 120GB drive and not worry about installs for a long time... kinda like me right now.... and I got movies and music and loads of UT3 mods, variety packs and the sorts... I know I know.. not everyone wants to install a hard-drive. But you really should!!! They encourage it!
I love my new updated one!!! and I bougth a case for the old one.. so I get a portable out of it too

of course that's an option but someone should be able to go to a store and buy a PS3 and still be able to save more than 4 games worth of data without an issue and without modification. the 20 is discontinued obviously but even a 40 gig could get filled pretty fast with standard use of the PS3.

Actually, Sony needs to extend support of external hard drives. There are alot of file functions you can't perform on plug-in drives and there's no good reason for it. I want to do my game installs to a USB hard drive but noooo, it has to go on the internal. Put it on the list.

what did he say in response to the question as to whether dlc would be free? the background noise was very high just when he answered the question.

I think its funny that around 1:50 when they talk about if the DLC and whether it will be free, there's massive screaming as soon as he says that we might have to pay.....lol
