No new releases
That's pretty much it, this week. Two games worldwide, but what more do you need? GTA IV should very well tide you over until the next major release. Depending on what you're excited for that's either Haze or Metal Gear Solid 4. With both of these games due within the next month and a half, now really is a great time to own a PS3.

Poor Iron Man. Theres already loads of shops in the UK that are selling it if you know where to go. Indie game shops, certain supermarkets.

Glad i'm getting the decent PS3 version, not the 360-tard-pack gimped version of GTA IV.

i already have it on the 360 and i can tell you 100% that the pop in in certain areas is really bad. not sure if the ps3 will be better, but it's definitely noticeable on the 360 from the get go. i'll be playing on the PS3 online though, feel free to add me on either :) PSN: THEMISSING XBL: THEMISSING

Does the 360 version need/have an option for hard drive install?
Plus is it true the PS3 version needs install?

no 360 install, straight off the disc...i'd imagine the ps3 version will have some sort of install, i'd actually be disappointed if it didn't, there's a lot of loading.

PS3 version has a mandatory install (less than 10mins), but the load times are almost non existent.
360 frequently has 30 second load times.
As for pop-in, it's supposed to be significantly less on PS3, same with framerate dips, less on PS3.
360 gets the tard-version...

Yeah, I've read (i think in the IGN review) that there are no loading times whatsoever for the PS3 version compared to frequent small loading times for the 360.

Tranando, stop spreading shit- you wouldn't know either way about pop up, and you obviously don't know about load times. The PS3 has the mandatory install to be able to load relatively quickly, and I wouldn't be surprised at all to see the 360 end up loading faster as it does in nearly every multiplatform game.
From the gameplay videos I've seen of GTA IV (on the 360) the pop-up is pretty much nonexistant, but I'll have to wait until I get my copy to be sure.
Damn transexual fanboys.

Ah, okay.
Thanks Tranando, Marc B and a.j.
Just wondering now if anyone knows the size of the install?
@ Zeus.:God
Grow up yeah? Tranando hasn't done anything wrong.
I mean he only said "As for pop-in, it's supposed to be significantly less on PS3"...focus on supposed. If anything a.j. is spreading stuff...and i wouldn't say he is, he's just saying his oppinion.
Anyway, PS3 fanboys should have a game that runs better on their system than the rivals; I think we're all fed up of getting worse ports of great games *cough ORANGE BOX cough*
Stop acting like a child...how do i know your acting like a child? Because adults don't run around saying "Damn transexual fanboys"

What do you mean? Gimped version? Does anyone know what that guy is on about. I will be getting the Ps3 version but to be honest, there really isn't much difference and either console owner would be happy with it..
I could care less about the extra content as it shouldn't affect the storyline without it.
One thing that puzzles me is why the Microsoft hasn't got a GTA IV console pack that had the extra bonus content included (when it becomes available). That would have been good marketing. Oh well.
Can't wait to get this on the PS3!!!

The IGN review points to more significant pop-in of the textures in the 360 version. :)

I'm surprised neither Joystiq or PS3 fanboy has posted about how within the IGN GTA IV review, for possibly the first time in history, they say that the PS3 version runs better (at least in the graphics department). This is a pretty big deal since there's likely a good chunk of people who would buy the 360 version because they expect it to be the better looking title. You'd figure SOMEONE would be all over that. It's worth mentioning regardless of what game it is, just because it's so unheard of. The fact that it happens to be the biggest game release of the year...

Yeah I know what you mean... but given that at least one of the editors of PS3Fanboy has already admitted that he'll be playing it on the xbox360, perhaps it's not so surprising. Ah never mind. We'll enjoy the better graphics anyway!

Also I read on CVG that some analyist wrote a report for Reuters predicting that GTA4 will shift more on the PS3 and shift more hardware. Check it out.

Andy Yoonie have said on several ocations that he is getting the 360 version beacuse its "better" i guess he means DLC...
Since he is the top poster here in PS3 fanboy i don't think there is not going to be anything on that... thats too much flame since the game is so awesome that according to the review overshadows its flaws... Still PS3 version is way better, since i dont have a 360.
IGN: "For those wanting to know which version looks better, the edge goes to the PS3. The textures and framerate are comparable, but the PS3 has far less pop-in. The 360 has richer colors, but the PS3 has better anti-aliasing making it look a little cleaner. Because GTA IV can preload onto the PS3 hard drive, the in-game loads are faster. Don't worry Xbox owners, the load times are rarely more than 30 seconds and don't occur very often. The slight visual edge goes to PS3, but the 360 is no slouch."
"Is no Slouch".. is just not as good as the PS3 version.
