Note: The following text may be considered a "spoiler" to some. Although no specifics are mentioned, please read with care.Apparently, the BBFC (British Board of Film Classification) said that Metal Gear Solid 4 featured "implied child rape." Since then, the description has been deleted. The original description noted that "references to suicide and an implied child rape" were featured in the game.
While that description has since been removed, Kojima Productions contacted Kotaku with a statement, noting that there is no "rape" in the game: "There is mention of child trauma, which is probably why they added 'implied." Considering the game's 15 rating (as opposed to the more adult 18 rating), we doubt anything truly horrific could've been included.
The Metal Gear franchise has been known for its unique stories, and it's clear that Guns of the Patriots will touch upon some sensitive issues. We can't wait to see what Kojima's (supposedly) last MGS tale will bring.

The rabid Xbots are going to go balistic over this one. Microsoft must be getting REALLY worried when it resorts to digging up crap like this...

What?
Seriously, what?
Anyway on topic, it was probably taken down since it was put up too far in advance of the games release. The full database entry will be up closer to launch.

not many games touch on child trauma, at least not to the degree that BBFC says its "implied child rape". I've always thought that MGS story was fantastic (albeit a bit confusing) but this supposed final chapter is going to be nothing short of epic.

isn't it at all possible the person who rated the game was a child rapist and saw some signs of 'takes one to know one' attrition (probably the wrong word) that made him believe some child was raped in the game?

I'm waiting for Fox News to report of the the 'Rape'Station 3, and how it features MGS4 which has "scenes" of child rape, where they forget to mention "implied". And a panel of "experts" who have never played video games before, let alone MGS4.

It could be something to do with Sunny and the Patriots as she was taken into care by the Patriots after she was born. It could be an important part of the story about her first few years with them.

Dont you think that this is a bit of a spoiler?
The fact that you have listed implied child rape, and olga's daughter is in the trailer....
AND we have seen lots of videos with snake holding a gun to his mouth and you have just broadcasted that thier is only suicide suggestion....meaning he doesnt kill himself...
THANKS GUYS
SERIOUSLY THIS IS A SPOILER!!!
Couldn't you have done a "Konami reject claims ..more after the jump"
kinda thing?

I kind of agree in that it says more than some people want to know, but I imagine a lot of people didnt make that connection until you posted about it.

I made that connection right away as well, and I'm really pissed off, that part of the trailer was a real cliffhanger that made me really excited for the game. This sucks.

I'm really hyped for this too, I started playing MGS (1) again two days ago, and I've been trying to find acid and acid 2 (hard to find new). And I get where your coming from, all Im saying is that I caught the Olga's daughter reference on my own but I hadnt caught the suicide thing until you mentioned it.

Unless you're in a large container with copies of the Metal Gear series up to your head so you can not breathe, you're not "literally drowning" in the games.

hmmm the more i read that line tho the more i think referances could infact meen ..you know..what we all think it meens...
I think if you watch the trailers (hint - they are not all in that desert place, suggesting things...regarding life span..)
Then i dunno. I am currently ....sorry for making the above comment is all i can say...just my rampant MGS fanboy mind running wild.
Currently playing everything in chronelogical order. Even got the original and the japan only sequal (done in english for MGS3 substitance) booted onto my psp ;).
Got acid and portable ops in staff box at work so il pick em up wen i get to that point

I just wanted to point out how far behind games are when it comes to adult content. Fritz Lang's movie M has a scene that implies child rape and that movie came out in 1931 and now over 75 years later people are freaking out that a videogame implies child rape even when it doesn't. It just seems weird to me.
