Guitar Hero IV will feature other instruments and vocals
Judging from Guitar Hero III's low quality controller build and its lackluster downloadable content, we don't really expect Guitar Hero IV to be much of a Rock Band beater. Especially when you consider Harmonix' superior ability to create note charts. Who knows though, maybe Neversoft will feature an instrument not currently available in Rock Band - that's the only real way we can see the franchise becoming relevant again.

When you say "done before", don't you mean it's been done before in some parts of the world?

I want my clarinet...they should come out with Jazz Hero. Just imagine that, playing a kick ass blues song on the sax.

Yeah now imagine sharing a sax with all your friends.. it's bad enough getting finger sweat on the guitar frets..

Careful, that add on could cost you 30 - 60 bucks. Although, if they had Blue Oyster Cult's Don't Fear the Reaper on the play list it would be a must.
More Cow Bell!

I think your forgetting that rock band costs £180 in England. I would definitely consider buying guitar hero over rock band if it was a lot cheaper.

What are you smoking!? The GH3 Les Paul is clearly superior to the Rock Band Fender. I LOVE the Strat guitar in real life, and I do like the longer neck and wider fret buttons, but the strum bar is pretty horrendous unless you're strumming both up and down, which I tend not to do. Plus the RB Strat just feels thin and cheap compared to the solidity of the Les Paul.

Nope, that quote is right. I had 2 faulty guitar controllers before returning the game entirely.

I agree with Christian. The Guitar Hero III controller is far superior to the Rock Band guitar. The strum is terrible and the buttons aren't nearly as responsive.

They both have their merits. I agree that guitar hero has a better strum bar, but for me, the wireless works a lot better on rock band than on Guitar Hero 3. If you were wearing a belt or had keys in your pocket the GH3 controller wouldn't work right. sometimes even the buttons and rivets in jeans caused it not to function properly. I don't know if they've improved the controllers since launch, but that was a deal breaker for me.

Done before maybe, but still not available in Europe. At this rate Guitar Hero IV will be out here before Rock Band is. Goodie, I can keep using my GHIII guitars :). Let’s hope GHIV is compatible with the Singstar mics too.

As much as I hate Activision and their shitty treatment of the Guitar Hero franchise, I think you're a little off about the controller. My GH3 controller is still functioning well, but I've had to replace my Rock Band one.
I do like the Rock Band one more tho, the longer neck is nice, as are the lowneck frets. The strummer is nice, since it won't wake up my roomates.
