Showing gameplay footage the day after MGS drops is not a big deal. People seem to forget it's NOT 100% of PS3 owners that are buying it. There are plenty of people who really don't care about MGS, and would much rather play a shooter, like me.

I suppose I could have phrased it a bit better. I WILL play MGS. I'm just not going to buy it. I'll rent it (This IS the "ultimate rental" franchise" we're talking about....). I've purchased the previous entries in the series, but I guess I've grown out of the incredibly overlong cinematics and hilariously ridiculous characters (You're telling me the chick couldn't figure out she was wearing a metal-repelling suit all these years? Never mind the fact that lead bullets are practically magnetically inert....)
Don't get me wrong, they're fun games, I'm just tired of people treating them like they're art or something. If there was a movie made based on the characters in MGS, people would roll out of the theatres laughing.

LoL I think that's what makes the MGS games!! The game is very story driving and the characters are the way they are because they want you to remember them for how they acted!! Just look at Vamp how can you not remember his crazy ass lol eitherway i think 08 is going to be a great year

You have to understand that's the style of the game for Metal Gears. They are very story driven and the characters are designed in such a way as to stand out and be memorable. Either way I'm really looking forward to this year because its going to be a great year for all gamers of all tastes!!

I don't see the big deal in releasing the gameplay footage so close to MGS4. Its not like we're going to get to play it. Even though I have every intention of getting MGS4 on launch day I will still take a few minutes out of my day to watch whatever Insomniac gives us on the 13th.

Resistance 2 does look awesome and 100 times better than the first, this is another big game for the PS3 in 2008, but yeah cant understand why some people dont want MGS4, thats the biggest next gen game of all time time and its a HUGE game too apparently it'll take weeks, months or years to discover all the secrets in that game, and it also boasts a FPS mode, cant wait for june the 12th to come soon enough, an november for RESI 2 :-D

And to the others about MGS4: I was just thinking there would be tons of PS3 gamers playing MGS4 non-stop that they wouldn't have time to play interwebs and check things out. But, yeah, other than that, it's gonna rock -- I just hope the majority of the gaming populace will get to see it, is all I intended.
