Haze's release date has officially been locked down and is not set to change again. Ever. CVG is reporting that it has confirmed with Ubisoft that May 23rd is the date that the game will be available in Europe.
Haze has been in release limbo for several months now, after it
failed to make its November 2007 release date and was pushed to early 2008. Then, in late January, it was pushed back
even further with a vague "fiscal 2008/2009" date attached.
Now, however, we can be certain that we'll be getting our hands on the Nectar infused shooter on May 23rd in Europe. Though there's currently no word on a US release date. It may not have
impressed us much at the Play.com Live event, but we're still intrigued. If only to get closure on what has been one of the most confusing releases we've ever known.

No one cares at this point, now that COD 4 has come along and done FPS better than anyone else, this game will look like a turd in comparison.

I guess you wont be getting another FPS for the next 2 years then... until the new CoD is released.
Wait until you can download a DEMO or read the reviews before really deciding if its buy worthy or not. Don't think there is gonna be a DEMO, though.

honestly and obviously COD4 is awesome, but honestly it brought nothing new to FPS'si own it and love it, but to say that becuz of COD4 u r going to miss out on this is dumb the hasn't come out and already u r judging - believe me i did the same thing w/ COD4, and look how grrreat that did! for all we know this culd be the best FPS EVER but idk, just dont be so quick to judge my friend

Dunno about you guys, but if a game doesn't get a demo, sometimes that means it sucks and they're scared to let you play it before you buy it. This one is a rental, I got burned on UT3 already (horrible lag = unplayable, might be better now).

I'll get this right away, depending on the reviews. If reviews say otherwise I'm sure MGS4 will be enough.
I'm still really interested in this game, but should i believe this date like the other 10 release dates? I guess will have to wait and see. *fingers crossed*

The reason I'm interested in Haze is because of the way the story is actually going to directly influence the gameplay. It seems like a very daring step forward for the FPS genre on a whole to have such a dynamic story.
Of course, a lot of things can go wrong with this difference between the White Hand rebels and Mantel soldiers, but so far it's looking like it's balanced.
Plus, the only reason I can see as to why they delayed the game is because they did not agree with the level of quality at the time of the scheduled release.
I am eagerly looking forward to its release and am hoping for a very intriguing story and solid gameplay and multiplayer.

This whole notion that the two sides are completely balanced and yet function differently is pretty cool. It reminds me of starcraft, and how it redefined rts games (heck, its about a decade old and I can still buy it at walmart!). It'll be really cool if they can pull that off with any sort of realism.
I'm thinking that the rebels will have a hand up in this though. sure they can't hit as hard and they turn a little slower, but if you can play dead and stab some other soldier in the back... just seems that the good people are going to be playing rebels.

this will be a rental if its good it will et purchased otherwise it will stay in stores with rainbox 6 vegas . which was a vast improvement over the original once u go COD u cant go back. HAZE should be pushed this game back to july after GTA and COD or maybe even august cuz the bourne game is coming too. im not too sure but i dont think theres anything in August if its half decent they may be able to do decent numbers

I'm questioning the validity of Joystiq's sources, but this game has been so snake bitten with delays that I won't believe that the game is coming out until I literally see it on retail shelves.

Huh? Did someone say something about haze? This game missed the mark because it's hype has seriously died down. They should have pushed for a release last year alongside Uncharted and RC:TOD, especially since the whole exclusivity argument was being raged at the time.
