It isn't too long until GTA IV strikes. Check out this final trailer, which highlights many of the locales, characters and scenarios of Rockstar's latest. In addition to the ambitious multiplayer offerings, we're looking forward to playing the single player adventure: we're hoping it plays as epic as it looks.

This game cannot possibly fail. GOTY for sure.
I can't wait for the release, I'll be there at the midnight release at my local game store :)
Maybe then my re-curring nightmare I've been suffering recently that the PS3 version is gimped will finally be put to bed.

Please post in english next time, thanks.
And the game still doesn't look very good, low quality textures and frame dropping all over the place. I guess graphics have never been their focus and it should be an easy port to the Wii.

Maybe I have become jaded with all the next-generation PS3 goodness coming out, but GTA4 just doesn't look that good graphically. Its probably a factor of being developed for multiple systems, that last 20% of effort put into optimizing the graphics for a single platform just isn't there. A game full of hexagonal heads, unrealistic movement and edge jaggies just doesn't seem next-gen to me. I am getting tired of cross-platform titles because with rare exception there is always a sacrifice on qualilty.

I really doubt that developing for multiple systems made the graphics look like they do. You have to remember how huge this game is. It should be noted that previously GTA games have been lacking on graphics compared to games released on the same time frame.

Don't use the worn out "it's huge" argument. You never see the city from an airplane and Oblivion had better draw distance with incredible detail. These guys just don't know how to make pretty graphics or sustain a framerate.

the argument that "it's huge" is a perfectly valid one. This game has to be able to load on the fly on both ps3 and xbox without installing everything to a hard drive. Unlike Oblivion you aren't walking around or riding a horse. You're meant to be able to drive cars over 150mph and still have everything load. And never see the city from a plane? What about tall buildings and helicopters? Keep in mind every shot of gta4 you see, I'm expecting the framerate to have to keep up with those same shots but with everything exploding and on fire.

A few things to bear in mind:
A.) GTA 4 is bigger than Oblivion
B.) There is a lot more going on on-screen
C.) GTA4 doesn't have load times. Oblivion has really long load times.
D.) You might not see the city from a plane, but you do see it from a helicopter
E.) How would you know what the draw distance is from watching the trailers?
F.) Oblivion had it's own graphical problems, with some frankly terrible animation
G.) You're a c***.

Anyone that bad mouths GTA's graphics is a "Liberty City internet cafe".
This game will easily be the best game so far this generation on any platform. Nothing so far even remotely comes close to the awesomeness of this game.
And Halo 3's first week sales record is about to be consigned to the history books. Bring da ruckus!

Well I guess I just haven't bought into the hype, I just go by what the trailers have shown me, and that isn't anything to write home about.
And by the way, Oblivion is much bigger. Even Fallout 3 which will be enormous will only be 50-80% the size of Oblivion.

Hype has nothing to do with it. No game so far this generation has been as good as GTA3, and each subsequent game in the series has improved significantly over it's predecessor (excluding the stories games, obviously). R* would have to f*** up colossally for GTA4 to not be supremely awesome.
You could be right about Oblivion though. I'm pretty sure it would take you longer to cross the map on foot in GTA:SA than it would in Oblivion, but GTA4 is apparently quite a bit smaller. I'm fairly confident it will be larger in regard to the amount of different textures and stuff though. And don't forget that Oblivion suffered plenty of frame drops when you were fighting outside.
In any case: Oblivion = awesome, GTA4 = awesomest.

I hope the graphics in the game are better than in the trailer and/or they sacrificed the graphics to make the game large, both in the geographical sense, but also in features

I guess with all this hype it is sure to be the Game of the Century. After we are tired of it, and it no longer satisfies us we should destroy our consoles to protest the lack of innovation in other games.
At least they don't put them out every year like Tony Hawk.
