The new SOCOM community site is up! Fans of the series can log on and get psyched up ready for SOCOM: Confrontation's release in September. The website includes a message board and a blog which, we're promised, is where a lot of new info and media will be shown between now and release. That's all that's available right now, but the SOCOM team have much bigger plans for when they implement what's called "Phase 2".
Phase 2 will be a "whole new website which will integrate your SOCOM Confrontation experience onto the web." This sounds like a Warhawk style stat-tracking system to us, but Seth Luisi isn't forthcoming regarding any further details. He does, however, mention a closed beta occurring sometime in the future. Those of you who fancy getting involved will need to become strong members of the SOCOM community. More details are coming soon, but Luisi says that "only the top contributors at the Official SOCOM Blog will be selected. We are on the look out for people who have intense knowledge of all the previous SOCOM games and can also demonstrate their leadership in the Message Boards and Comments section."

It seems that Sony has forgotten about PS2 user's. All the good games are for the PS3 OR the PSP systems. PS3 system has Killzone 2, Resistance 1-2, Socom 5 and now God of War 3 for the PSP system. You still shouldn't just push the PS2 user's aside and not make any new games for us on our systems. I have been very true too Sony and all of it's games. Make the same games for PS2, and you will make even more money than you do now!!!!!!! Thank's for rethinking on this matter.

It's true that PS3 is finally getting all the big games but ps2 has gotten a few gems in the time that the ps3 has been out. At least they didn't shift their focus the way Microsoft did. They practically abandoned the xbox the day the 360 came out. While I understand why it happens that way, I prefer the way it's happened with ps1 and ps2. A gradual shift instead of an abrupt one.

Glad they're doing site-integration like in Warhawk; the SOCOM 3 web integration was nice, and I hope the continue and enhance it with this!

well to a point you are right, but at lease the xbox ie getting all the new games that PS3 is getting. Well it's about time that I get a new or Xbox at lease I would get the same games that PS3 have and I'll be able to play them on a system, just as good as PS3 but at a lower price.
