It seems the borders between video game culture and other forms of popular culture are melting away. Wyclef Jean recently teamed up with Electronic Arts to feature bits of Burnout Paradise in a new music video. The result? Well, it's a neat concept to be sure. Having Wyclef Jean driving a car while a kid is "controlling" him is pretty fun. If only we could control some of our friends while they were driving, huh?
I love Wyclef Jean's music and just because of this video I'm buying a PS3 today with no games I'll just use it to watch Wyclef's music videos and my Divx video collection
Talk about cross promotion. I almost don't know what to think. ... what comes to mind is Zero Punctuation saying theres no people in Burnout Paradise..... so what now ZP. S
Yeah, not only was EA's game featured in the video but Sony stuff too; the PSP, the PS3, there was some sort of Sony monitor/HDTV, and even the Playstation Eye at the very end.
So how did they decided to feature the PSP and PS3 as the console in the car? Did Sony get involved in this too, they are known for advertising in really dodgy ways!
... seriously ... how is this "dodgy" in your mind? It's no different from a TV show deciding to use Coke over Pepsi in a scene. It's common practice. Quit acting like Sony is being underhanded here in some way.
Hey, didn't mean to sound so negative. Liked the video to be honest and it was a smart move to do that... I'm pretty sure someone out there, who never ever thought about a PS3 probably bought one cuz of it!
But yeah, nice to know we gatz soldiers here ready to defend Sony at the slightest detection of a negative tone :D!

Wyclef Jean is signed by Sony BMG. What you guys saw right there was some incredible use of cross promotion.
