It's a well documented fact that Electronic Arts has eagerly desired to acquire Take-Two Interactive for some time now. Our comrades over at Joystiq have been thinking deeply about the implications of such a merger -- if such a merger were to happen. Delving further into this, they examine Take-Two's development portfolio, showcasing what an extensively large acquisition Take-Two really is and laying out exactly what EA would be gaining in the deal.
Many of the games made at Take-Two's various studios could very well be games you've been impatiently anticipating. Could any of you see these future titles with EA's stamp all over them? What are these games and the studios that make them, you ask? Check out Joystiq's Take-Two family album to find out.

Nothing to worry about. The takeover will never happen. T2 denied EA's (pathetic, imho) offer and is now instructing their shareholders not to be wooed by EA's attempts at a takeover.

I say please take over Take two EA! Yeah I know that EA's reputation has been bad as of late. But if EA took over Take two then it could mean things like Bioshock ports for the PS3.

It used to be, way back in the old, old days of say... the Amiga, it meant something when the Electronic Arts name was on a product. Now it means your product is going to be dumbed down. It's possible that EA can get themselves out of this but with their corporate mentality, I don't see at this point that they can acquire someone like Take2 and not do damage to the creative enterprise that is more typical of smaller companies.

Look Daniel, you really don't want them to port Bioshock over to the PS3 I mean look at everything else EA ports over to the PS3 it always has either glitchy gameplay, un-intelligent AI, or muddy graphics and that is all mainly because EA programs their games on the 360 which therefore automatically downgrades the games that they port because they were made to play on a slower, weaker, more inferrior machine. So, if you want to play Bioshock more power to you just save yourself the trouble and all us other PS3 fans and buy a 360 and play it in its entire splendor because if that ever gets put on the PS3 it's gonna be worst than the Lost Planet port ha ha ha! lame ass game. And one more thing...do you really want EA making games that we have come to play and love so well like GTA IV, or imagine even worse a EA created Metal Gear Solid. it would probably have a title something like "John Madden presents EA's Metal Gear Solid IV 08'" and as sedrious devoted gamers do we really want that?
