People have been excited about the latest PS3 firmware, 2.20. However, some many be confused by all the features hidden in this latest update. SCEA's Eric Lempel walks us through the firmware in this very informative feature. Not only does he talk about BD-LIVE, he talks about connectivity with the PSP. Watch how he transfers a playlist to the handheld. Not bad, huh? The internet browser has also been enhanced -- something we've all been waiting for. All in all, this seems like a solid update.

What about the people with 60gig PS3's? I've been reading that they are having trouble with this update, and because of that I'm holding off until someone addresses it.

I have a 60GB, no problems yet and I installed it last night around midnight. Got online and played COD4 for an hour, surfed the web _alot_ and the new browser is much better. Also tested the remote audio settings to use my PSP as a remote control, worked perfectly also.

It's a funny thing you'll see with just about every update for just about anything. Once it's set in, users will notice a (typically pre-existing) problem and immediately blame the update. Sometimes it applies, of course, but it's more noticeable.
If you're still on the fence, I own a launch 60 gig; played Rock Band online for an hour, then Tekken online for two last night, which addresses the 'omg it broke my PS3' argument.

People really browse the web on their PS3s?
Couldn't you just hit the source button on your TV and flip it over to CNN?
I find the whole browsing thing odd. Probably 99% of people that have PS3s, also have PCs.....let alone are probably less than 10 feet away from their PC...

Roach, not all people have cable.
I use an OTA antenna for TV...Free HD. I don't want to pay for 500 channels of sh*t I don't watch. So yes, I want to be able to watch some CNN via the website when I want to see a debate or something. I can watch it on my laptop, but it'd be nice on the TV.

@roach
plus the PS3 turns on and boots up about 20 times faster then my laptop. so i only use the browser when my laptop isnt all ready on.

I'm in the same boat as several of you guys, but my issue is that since my wireless router died, I've been stuck with one land line that I have to switch between my PS3 and PC. If I've been on the PSN and just need to look up a FAQ or YouTube video, for example, I'd just use the PS3 browser.
Also, I wish the Flash player supported ABC's online player. Free, as of yet unreleased Lost episodes in HD through my PS3. How awesome would that be?

I agree, we need a flashplayer update. I would love to access hulu.com and other flashplayer sites.
