If you love your Blu-ray library, you'll love
this week's deal at Target. Seems that they're offering a new "buy one get one free" deal. By that we mean 11 selected titles are available at 50% off -- the titles they chose are actually pretty good. The only downside is that the majority of Blu-ray-o-philes might have most of these already. Still, not a bad deal to get these at $15 a piece. Here's the list of select titles, so get your hunt on:
- Casino Royale
- Spiderman 3
- Live Free or Die Hard
- Ocean's Thirteen
- 300
- Saw IV
- 3:10 to Yuma
- Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End
- The Simpson's Movie
- The Game Plan
- Ratatouille
[Thanks, Jonathon!]

lol you DEFINITELY need an HDTV.
And you probably want a 1080p one if you REALLY want to know the difference. Otherwise, DVDs will do you just fine.

You may see a small difference in sharpness from a couple feet away, but yeah, you need an HDTV to enjoy BDs.
You'll pay over $1G for 1080P, so I'd go with a quality 26-40" 720P set for about half that. Any quality, reputable HDTV will serve as a HUGE upgrade in picture quality compared to a SDTV.
I went from a kick-ass Samsung SDTV (component 480i) to a Toshiba Regza 32" (HDMI 720p) last Christmas and the difference is stunning. You do need the proper content to enjoy it, which'll cost ya, but you already own a fine BD/DVD 1080p player so you're on your way.
Now you just need some BDs, an HD cable/sat package, an audio receiver, speakers and a sub, and some cables to finish'er off.

Hardly. A 720p or 1080i hdtv will provide a noticeable difference between DVD and bluray. Requiring a 1080p set is just elitism. :P

I saw this tonight when I stopped by there after work. I was dissappointed in the selection though. Only ones I'm slightly interested in are Simpsons, 300 and At World's End but even those, meh.
I did pick up Dead Head Fred ($8) and NHL 2K8 (PS3, $15) on clearance though :D

Meh?!
I got 3:10 to Yuma and The Simpsons Movie. The only reason I didn't get more was because I had the others I wanted: Casino Royale, Spiderman 3, 300, 3:10 to Yuma, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, Ratatouille.
Those are great films that look amazing in Blu-ray.
For those asking, HDMI cables (*needed* for a BR player, are cheap if you go online. Don't buy them at the store for crazy mark-up. The quality is negligible (not like component cables where more expensive cables mean better picture), because it is purely a digital, all-or-nothing signal, and you don't need any of that insulation (signal protecting) that component cables need ... i.e., they can't be screwed up.

Yes, meh. I'm not a big movie watcher, and IMO the only movies worth owning are comedies and the OCCASIONAL drama/serious film if they are worth watching again. I have enough movies, cds, and games that just collect dust.

That's an awesome price.
If you have a Blu Ray player but not Planet Earth, you are wrong.
Buy it.
