It has been confirmed to us that the wait is finally over. Europeans can get their hands on
PAIN, as well as a few add on packs (probably the character packs already released in the US) this coming Thursday. With last week being described as "the last bad update for a while", things should pick up from now on. Yeah. How many times have we heard that one?
The localisation issues that cause these ridiculous delays (it's been four months since
PAIN was released in America) are due to be addressed at some point in the near future. At the risk of sounding like a broken record,
something needs to be done, so we'll look forward to these discussions with cautious anticipation.

You know, this game actually looks it could get old very fast, but we've been waiting so long I might wind up getting it anyway. Delays are a marketing tactic!

Err, it's not like it's MGS4 or even PixelJunk Monsters. The game simply isn't that good... Yes the delays are quite annoying, but when it's a title as mediocre as this one why should we care?

Localisation issues again?
they keep saying they are going to be addressed, but its the same comment that we've heard time and time again from other developers on the psn. how about super puzzle fighter???
last time i heard about that game capcom said they were developing something to eliminate the localisation issues, this technique would cause some delay for this game but it wouldn't effect others...
and yet we still wait for that. i think it has to be down more to the fragmentation of the different sony areas, yes there are bound to be the odd localisation issue, but surely teams and techniques should be in place.

I might have bought this a couple of months ago, gone past being interested now unless it's super cheap.

Sorry, too late now. Had they bundled the extras which had been released over in the US into the EU release at no extra cost, I'd have bought it, as it is GT5 Prologue is out next week and I know which one I'll be buying.
However makes PAIN - you made a bad call with the delay, had it appeared 4 months ago, I'd have bought it. As it is, I can't be bothered to buy it, seeing as you couldn't be bothered to release it any quicker to us. 4 Months is simply inexcusable, especially as you were releasing DLC for the US version.

"Localisation" issues have obviously been tricky as a US cartoon character going "oof" or "oww" whilst hitting a building versus one in the PAL territories making similar noises would need a complicated process involving a vocal-coach to make sure the correct amount of European-ness was included.
I'm looking forward to downloading the Santa character Add-on just in time for Easter :)

I feel the same way every time localization issues are brought up. Open source software localizes for every conceivable language and it doesn't seem to take them months to pull if off...by unpaid volunteers.
Seriously, there's not much talking, just create a text file with all the English text in it, have some German (or whoever) go through the file and translate, done. Next language... Why does this need to be such a huge deal all the time? Why not give Europeans the option to go with the English version if they want it first?

It's not just a case of changing languages! Each Euro state has it's own laws and regulations to abide by, whilst the US don't. They can't release the game until every one of those bodies has ok'd it. PEGI, BBFC, FSK, and God knows how many others have to give their approval before it can be added. So the EU is supposed to bring countries together?!
