Looking forward to Beta testing Street Fighter II HD Remix on your PS3? Capcom says it's not going to happen. Instead, Beta test privileges are going straight to Xbox Gold subscribers when they purchase Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3. Don't feel too bad fellow PSNers, the Beta is only an eight week trial of a reworked gaming classic -- a 1080p widescreen remake to be exact. It's absolutely not a reason to storm into town with torches. Absolutely not.
But hey, everything that's got a downside has an upside. To keep you from feeling down out of luck about missing the Beta, we've got tons of media for you to check out. Such as these screenshots down below. Wow, they're sho-ryu-ken good. Yep, sure looking good, had to repeat that just in case you didn't get the play on words there. If you didn't get to see the pics from Joystiq earlier, then have a look at them now. Otherwise, check out the four gameplay vids we have waiting for you after the break.
Sob, sob ... it's quite unfair that we're not getting a Beta on our side of the console pond. Oh well, the game is expected to come out later this year and so it won't be too long before we kick it old school. While the Xbox gamers enjoy their Beta, we'll be stuck watching that purple Street Fighter VHS tape again and again. You know, for nostalgia's sake. Come on, you know you have one buried in the closet somewhere. Dig it up!

Honestly I'm not too pissed about not getting the beta. Since I've heard the only playable characters are to be Ryu and Ken... theres not going to be a ton a enjoyment using the same two characters endlessly for 8 weeks.
I'd enjoy the beta, but can live with out it.

What I'm pissed off about is that the 360 is getting a beta and the PS3 isn't. So, they're going to have thousands of people testing out the 360 code while the PS3 code gets released in a buggy state.

I'm pissed that capcom is gonna re release lost planet with colonies that brings a million new feature just for the xbox after they just released the half-ass version on ps3 not to long ago.

Just another good reason not to be one systems fanboy. I'll buy the game for the PS3(better fighter controller) but I'll also be playing the demo on my 360.

I believe the PS3 has this as well. THE BEST Fighting stick - I still could never get used to the d-pad on the PS3 or 360 gamepad so I bought this.
Chaining dragon punches one after the other has never been so easy.

Maybe it's cause they just have to make sure it will work on Xbox... damn crazy Live system. Being that it works just fine on PSN (open architecture and no size limit settings).

Well, they could do the beta where every two weeks an update is released that changes the set of available playable characters. Maybe swap out Ken and Ryu for Bison and Chun Li, etc. Or they could just add two or three more playable characters until you have a nice selection and feel for the different characters by the end of the beta run.

Capcom used to be my absolute favorite developer a long time ago. Megaman was my favorite series. Im glad they gave him his cyanide pill before this tragic downfall.
Seriously.. Commando 3 looks terrible. This whole beta thing was such a scam. I dont think they could have pulled it off on PS3 anyway. You need the gamerscore whore crowd to fall into that pit.
