Eye of Judgment set 2 detailed & dated for March 27th
The expansion will be a paid download from the PlayStation Store. There's no word on how much it will cost, but the PlayStation.Blog confirms that people who don't buy it will be able to play against those who do, which is excellent news. Alongside the expansion a network update will be released to all Eye of Judgment owners which will improve certain game features and implement an in-game encyclopedia as well as "special matches". For more information on the new cards and abilities be sure to check out Mark Valledor's post on the PlayStation.Blog.

That's a lot of love from Sony & Wizard & is much appreciated from this card carrying addict.
Unless Europe gets a later date, then I'm going to melt my cards into crack & smoke it.

Eh .... so ... not only do you need to buy more cards, but you also have to pay for an extension to the game itself?
I recently bought the game (haven't played it much yet, haven't gotten any additional cards - I've played maybe four times and the computer destroys me every time).
But anyway ... yeah. Not sure I like the idea of paying for an expansion that grants me the ability to *pay for more additional* content. Oh well.

Supposedly, the way the game is balanced, you can beat the computer and anyone with nothing more than the starter deck it comes with. It is a difficult game and there's a ton of strategy involved to earn a solid win. I have played games online where myself and my opponent have put each other in check 5 or 6 times.

Having to pay for the expansion really rubs me the wrong way. I mean games like these are money printing machines where they sell us tons of cards. And while I accept that if they didn't charge for the software update they would have just hidden the cost of the software update within the price of the cards, I would have been more happy with that. Cause then I can by 1 booster and be done with it for example.
It is not a bad game, and I have been playing it quite a bit, but I think I am jumping off this bandwagon at this point.

Well, you don't _have_ to buy the expansion. They've already said version 1 people can play against version 2 people without buying the expansion.

But you_have_to buy the expansion to be able to use the new cards you just bought yes? That kinda sucks.

...IF you're buying the second wave cards, which you will probably be able to see from the packaging.

If Sony is willing to gamble on further development, I am willing to pay for additional content. I think the entire concept is really cool and I hope other companies follow suit and develop similiar products. If I have to throw some money at Sony to help make that happen, then so be it!
