More interesting than that bit of news comes from what Rein has to say about the PS3 version. He acknowledged the current mod system is "less than stellar." The cumbersome process of having to download files to a PC, properly format them on a Memory Stick, and transfer them to the PS3 is certainly an annoying one. Unfortunately, no specific details about what "improvements" will be made, or when they'll be available, have been announced yet. Considering how broken the current system is, we'd like to think that anything is going to be an improvement.

It's really not that bad of a system. If you have the card formated, you can download them directly to the card by using the PS3's browser. Then you just start up UT3 and import it.

And it is unplayable. Don't say your connection is fine because then you are lucky as fck. It's laggy, slow, and terrible. I hate ut3.
Warhawk is better anyways...

i.e. there ARE improvements coming. It's just a matter of what and when.

mod systems should be available to all platforms, and not be tied to the whole "PC-only" business.
That said, I'm kind of frustrated that I can't run the COD4 mod tools from my macbook b/c it doesn't have enough video card juice to even run a PC game. so I do need to upgrade to either a mac pro or macbook pro or invest in another PC box (only have the macbook right now).
In any case, unlikely to make the end of March deadline, even if I wanted to.

It's not THAT bad of a system, but the "one at a time" thing is SO ANNOYING.
But keep in mind, Epic said that this method would be the temporary way of doing it until their mod sharing system was up and running, so technically we are still waiting on that. Didn't they also give us a URL a long time ago for their own little site for it too, but it never materialized?
