PixelJunk Monsters is probably the cutest game on the PS3 not named LittleBigPlanet, but the game's cuteness isn't the extent to its awesomeness. It's actually a pretty damn fun game, and that's why we're so happy to hear that Q-Games is currently developing an expansion.
Tim R., a gamer who shares our love with the game, emailed Q-Games expressing his need for some more PixelJunk Monsters, and was told "There should be some news about an expansion pack over the next few weeks, so keep your eyes peeled."
So if you haven't had enough of defending your tiny villagers from the rampaging monsters, you'll apparently have some new content to satisfy you very soon.
PixelJunk Monsters expansion pack coming soon

I cant even get past the medium levels!! haha
great game though - brilliant that you can play it via remote play too...
Is there any hard evidence of this claim though?

I'd like some new levels and game modes. Perhaps even 4 player support. More towers is a must though. I wish they would tweak the cost to buy new towers too, as I actually never buy new towers, because by the time I have enough gems the level is almost over. So I just use them to upgrade towers.

This is great, great news! This game is my personal CRACK!! I have beaten all of 2 player (easier than 1 player, by myself just swapping controllers), all of 2 player FULL RAINBOWS and I have 15 rainbows on 1 player. This game is one of the most addictive and challenging games I've ever played! LOVE IT. Somebody hook me up with that email so I can express my need for more PJM DLC.

haha, i considered doing that, sticking a spare controller on my lap and leave them lapdancing a tower for a bit, while sending my main guy round building stuff and picking up the coins.
I've got about 7 rainbows, and done maybe 2 of the hard levels in single player, i lost about 14hrs in 2 nights thanks to this game and the fanboy review! damn you ps3fanboy!! havent played it much recently, started getting really frustraited the second 1 villager dies, which is sadly far too frequent :(

Amazing game. A friend and I just finished the full game with all rainbows about 2 days ago, and it left a void in our lives. I downloaded Calling All Cars about 10 minutes after, and it's great, but it's just not the same. I need more PJM! The Super Stardust HD demo is also going to need to tide me over, unless I decide to spend the $10 on the game...
Hopefully there will be more games or demos released this Thursday...

online would sux for this game. It's all about communication and teamwork, and not being in the same room as the other player would suck. I mean, depending which friend I play with, I have a different role. You get to know eachothers strenghts and weaknesses. Wouldn't work with strangers.

oh man, now i have to get more rainbows?!? this is pretty good news. my only requests would be online 2 player. A faster ground weapon would be awesome too, like the air tower, but to kill the damn spiders

By the time you get to levels that really need better towers, gems come in thick and fast so it's no problem. I mean you must be spending a LOT of gems to not have 13 or so to spare in the hard levels.

Ok... you're wrong that online would suck... you're right that playing online with strangers would suck... communication and teamwork wouldn't be affected if it had voice chat, so dont see the problem there... My friend and I both play this game like crackheads but dont really want to drive over to each others houses all the time, so if it had online we could play together from the comfort of our own homes, so that kills your stranger theory too... whatever though, to each thier own, you prob wouldn't use the online feature but the MAJORITY of us would...

I guess there is no hard evidence. You'll just have to take my word for it and believe me when I say, I sent the exact same unedited email from the developer to kotaku.com. It's all true.
