First off, new enemies. Enhanced Chimera with more form-fitting battle armor, because even aliens need to be fashionable and destructive. Boss battles will return, probably in response to some of Halo 3's gigantic monstrosities -- one enemy towers 150ft above protagonist Nathan Hale. The single-player maps are, surprisingly, more or less complete and running in a rough state. Amazing that the game is technically "done" but not "cooked". It's like buying the turkey -- you still have to marinate and roast it. But the turkey is there. The game's difficulty will change depending on you and your teammates' skill level. There's more, but really, you should read for yourself to see what piques your interest -- and prevents us from revealing too much without your consent.

2008 release is certain then..
although im massively excited, im also very worried. If insomniac (benchmark) can do it so quickly with quality assured why the hell is killzone taking so long!
Anyone want to bet R2 started after KZ2 but will be released before?
On another note i hope R2 has been in production for a while, itd kill me if they only jsut started and almost finished. they need to take their time to polish it up for a true next gen game (eclipse COD4). what360?

They didn't have to build a new engine this time so it only takes a fraction of the time it would take if they had to do that.
KZ2 devs had to build an engine.

In case no one wants to read the artivle (or just hates 1up.com) The 150ft enemy is the one pictured in the screenshot above.

Why does it have to be in response to halo? A lot of games have giant bosses. If we're going to get all technical about it, then they're really responding to Painkiller and Shadow of the Colossus with their 150ft boss... ;)

Don't forget that Insomniac's podcast is due out tomorrow, so more details of where they are up to etc may be forthcoming.

Insomniac is really making other developers look bad. This will be ... 3 games in the space of still not having Killzone 2 on shelves? And all three of them will have kicked some pretty hefty amounts of ass.
I feel bad for developers still screwing things up. Ask Insomniac for help and maybe they'll throw you a bone and teach you to rock as well.

KZ2 is taking long because its the greatest game in existence, greatness takes time, look how long evolution took, roflmao
Lets hope that sarcastic statement is true :)

LOL, love the way Insominac called their game a Turkey! Some times you wonder if they engage brain before they speak!
However, unlike other Turkeys (Turok), this Turkey may well be worth looking out for once its roasted & served up.

LOL, love the way you didn't even READ the post properly.
That wasn't Insomniac's quote. It was PS3Fanboy's quote.
"Some times you wonder if they engage brain before they speak!"
I would apply the same to you!
LOL!

Balls, I can't even use the time as an excuse as it wasn't that late when I wrote it - I was sober too.
Guess I was tired though, I obviously read it with half an eye open.
D'oh. I take it all back. Have to admit, i was a bit surprised at what I read, I can see why now!

Unless they've just spent ALL of their energy on the campaign and have yet to even start multiplayer, I can pretty much say I'm not interested. I play games for the single player, and if they've already finished it, I don't trust it enough to play it. Unless, of course, it's just that good, in which case bravo.

So what you're saying is that you're definitely not interested...unless it's good.
Wow, what a revelation.

Oh totally. My point is that I've entirely written it off unless it miraculously becomes the be-all, end-all of games according to everyone else, at which point I will consider it maybe.

The Halo comment was pretty dumb. Boss battles are -RETURNING- and yet they must be doing it because of Halo!

So Resistance 2 has two campaigns, a single player campaign and a multiplayer campaign with up to 8 players... How many players can play on the single player campaign? Does it support split screen or quad screen locally?

Id assume the Single Player campaign can be played by
A Single Player :p
And how come every time a good game comes out/gets mentioned people gotta compare it to Halo, and lower its standards by comparing it to Halo? If you must compare a shooter say wow this game is like COD4!1!1!!!!! not ZOMFG THIS IS TEH HALOEZ COMPARIZONZ IT MUS BE GEWD

It might be a long shot, but my money is on the fact that a single player campaign will only allow, you know, a single player.

I would like to see more marketing for Resistance 2 than what there was for Fall of Man, like big Cardboard Chimera in shops and more (longer) TV spots
