The release date for Grand Theft Auto IV has finally been pinned down. The game will be let loose upon the world on April 29th of this year - and yes, to clarify, that is a worldwide release. This may be a little later than most of you had hoped, but no doubt the extra time in development will allow Rockstar North to create something truly special. Speaking of special, why not celebrate the news by pre-ordering that Limited Edition of the game? Go on, treat yourself.

Good news for multi-console owners, too far away to conflict with Brawl
Plus, between those two games, you won't need to buy anything from their respective releases until Fall

I have yet to see a PS3 build of the game in action. All the previews so far have been on the 360. I hope both versions are equal, minus the 360 only missions of course.

Usually not something to worry about. 360's obviously their lead platform, and often previews are shown solely on the lead platform, like how all the previews of Sonic Heroes were shown on GameCube before the title's release

I agree. this is a major cause of concern for me. Sometimes I wonder how late in the cycle they began porting to PS3 or designing the code that went to PS3. Rockstar is so quiet about all this stuff - I hope we see some videos and screenshots (hopefully a psn trailer) actually from the PS3 gameplay.

A R* insider claimed that both versions were identical, but the fact that it hasn't been seen so far is a little disconcerting. They're supposed to be demoing it soon though, and I know R* has a lot of love for Sony, so I'm not expecting it to disappoint.
At least we should be able to count on uncompressed audio for the PS3 version.

The best way to play these games, is on a PS controller.
Or is it just me?
Both versions of the game have been created from the ground up, on both platforms. Rockstar have already said this. No porting has been done. The only reason the XBOX 360 version has been used so fat, is because Rockstar was able to build whatever they needed a year earlier upon the 360's release. (As since, the PS3 was released a year later)
It's merely just choice, and who's finished quicker.
Also, April 29th is my brothers birthday... the lucky bastard.
Aaaand the Countdown begins!
