Sega said awhile back that Condemned 2: Bloodshot would feature online multiplayer, but we never really knew exactly what that would entail, until now. Sega revealed today that Condemned, which ships on March 11, will feature four online multiplayer modes that supports up to eight players simultaneously.
Those modes are:
- Crime Scene is a round-based competition to find and protect valuable evidence within the Condemned universe. One team will use its forensic tools to track and scan the evidence while the opposing team will do everything in its power to keep the evidence hidden and protected.
- Bum Rush is a team-based race against time. With three minutes before one team can safely be evacuated, players must hold off an onslaught of attacks by the other team until the timer runs out to stand a chance of survival.
- Deathmatch is the classic free-for-all mode. Players can use every weapon they can find to dispatch enemies as quickly as possible in this melee battle royale. The player with the highest score at the end of the time limit wins.
- Team Deathmatch is the team-based version of the classic free-for-all mode. Working together, players pick up weapons from the environment and fight off as many enemies as possible before the clock runs down. The team with the highest score after the time limit wins.

This should be hilariously fun, considering that most of the weapons are hand-to-hand. There hasn't been TDM that's involved melee weapons.

What about the game "Rune". An old pc game that used the old unreal engine. That game was awesomely stupid and fun multiplayer, lots of melee sword and axe hacking snananigans. Such a fun game to play at lans.

I can see one problem with this. If a player has a handgun and another has a knife, al the gun wielding player needs to do is keep his distance and unload. i see ho this will cause balancing issues, maybe guns won't even be included.

You must have missed the first Condemned (may i suggest picking it up on the PC if you dont have a 360). Guns rarely have more than 2 or 3 bullets in them. The melee attacks also stun you, knock you backwards, or even spin you around depending on how hard you were hit and what the weapon was.
I think this has the potential to be a lot of fun, or at least a short distraction from more fully featured multiplayer games.

Am I the only one who has a problem with a game mode called "Bum Rush"? Is that a euphemism for something? If it's literal, which part of the bum do you rush?

am i the only one thought the game in the video looked like sh*t?? I never played the 1st one, but iunno, it seems clunky, unresponsive, and about as far away from COD4's intensity imaginable. Alone in the Dark looks a billion times better than this.,...

I heard on GameInformer magazine a couple of issues back that you could beat this game in about 15 hours so its definitely a rental.
