Historically, the Armored Core franchise has seen little evolution from each installment, but Armored Core: for Answer looks as if it could change that trend. Not only sporting bigger play areas compared to Armored Core 4, the game will also support online co-op and transformable battle mechs. And oh yeah, this new Japanese trailer for the game is godly amazing.
Armored Core: for Answer is set to release in Japan on March 19, but it currently doesn't have a release date elsewhere as of yet.

Impressive trailer, but I'm still skeptical due to the lack of actual gameplay in it.

I dunno, this one does look like it has potential. It could be one of those games that people weren't expecting much of but turns out to be good which makes it look super-good because we weren't expecting much of it.

I just don't understand the interest in this Mech type games. This or Gundam etc. The only ones that makes sense are the ones in Metal Gear.

They have the COOLEST concepts and ideas for games and gameplay, but they insist on keeping the game at insane difficulties, and in a 'mech-sim' format- which completely cuts out a huge pool of potential gamers.
I know the series has always been this way, but at least come up with alternate control schemes or something, maybe arcade mode, for us non-sim players.
I'd very much like to fly around swarming rockets at a giant war machine the size of Houston....

In the earlier installments it was too easy to get stuck with a weak mech and no money.... hope this gets a bit easier (not to easy, of course)

If only the missions were a tad longer. Difficulty is alright actually.

Only mech game that's been really good to me is Zone of the Enders 2. Part one was too repetitive. If that got the full treatment like some of Konami's other games (MGS series) it could be AAA and give the genre a look over.

ZoE 3; Yes, I'll wait for that title instead of Armored Core. Too much micromanagement for my taste.

Chromehounds is quite good (in the vein of Mech Assault) for a sim-esque game.
Unfortunately, when games sneak up on you (march release date and we are just now hearing of it?) they are usually TERRIBLE. Hopefully that isn't the case here, but Armored Core 4 was a step back in terms of menu systems (made customizing your mech a damn chore)
..oh and Evangelion is the worst thing to come out of Japan since...ever

Looks like the "exact" same gameplay with the "exact" same graphics (really cool looking mech in a very open bland world). Man I was sooooo stoked for the last game that i got the asian ver. cause i couldnt wait for the usa to release... what a wast of 70$, luckly someboyd on ebay didnt think so. lol... I wish that the team that does the CG for these games makes a movie, that I will pay 29.99 on blu-ray for and just dream about playing an awesome game that the CG movie portrays (ohhh what an awesome game that would be)...
