New Metal Gear Solid 4 footage details some of the new weaponry

If you've been looking for some Metal Gear Solid 4 footage, you may have stumbled upon the above footage from the English demo. If not, enjoy. Back at TGS, Hideo Kojima said there would be about 70 weapons in the game and the new demo shows many of those new weapons in action. It also shows Snake in a variety of, uh, situations where the weapons come in handy. It's looking great and we're excited to get our hands on it at some point this year!

Why is the FPS shooting so awful? There is no retical when you are shooting. On top of this the down the site mode works in 3rd person with the gun getting in the way making it almost useless. I thought they were taking time to test the game in America. Come on get first person mode right.

1. Try shooting a gun in real life. Notice how there is not a reticule when aiming, this is called reality. Use iron sites for accurate aiming in the game and real life. Also in 3rd person view it goes to the side and you can switch sides (like GRAW2) so it is usefull

at jdaman have u played cod4 or other various fps's the down the site of the gun is quite common now so suck it up and also has anyone else noticed that the gun models seem to be shit? maybe its the quality of the vid but the models seem to be very little detailed

I agree, the gun models look bland and not detailed enough (though like you said, it IS youtubed lol). Previously I would've said something along the lines of, eh, maybe they're still working on all the weapons and whanot. But now its already 2008, and I'm pretty sure they're pretty far into QAing and testing, where most of the models should be done by now.

I think Harry Gregson Williams needs to do his magic once more to up the adrenaline a bit with some awesome soundtracks. OH! I recently found out (after finishing Cod4 and watching the credits) that he did the scores for that too! No WONDER why the music was sooooo incredible.

Part of me is boner for their being SO MANY WEAPONS.

Part of me is kinda sad, because MGS had what.... 6 weapons? Not counting grenades?

Either way I suck at MGS games, but I HAVE TO GET THIS GAME.

The weapons are miniaturized ala transformers all spark. Snake in this one is 87 and a 1/2 yrs old so he can't move like he used to.

There is something wrong with his back. Earlier videos showed him holding his lower back and standing up stiffly like his back really hurt. Also he has to keep injecting himself with something to stay healthy...he coughs stuff up once in awhile. What do you expect, the dude has been doing impossible black ops his entire life.

I'd lay odds that somewhere along the way, you switch characters. Hopefully Kojima will pull this off in a better fashion than he did with Raiden, but I get the feeling that Snake is going to pass the torch in this game before we get to that scene from all the previews where he eats barrel of his .45.

if theyr hoping to cash in on the whole fps spree that we have seen this generation with the weak fps of snake then forget it. this game will rock tho. when it drops its gonna rule the world! I hope to god that there is no loading or at least minimum, and they get the frames to 60. i payed a damn lot for my console and i was told that this game could only be done on it because it was the mightiest thing ever. i hope they live up to it. i mean doesnt blu ray has the space for it? come on yall whos with me?!

Don't you think it looks to easy to kill off the enemy? In earlier Mgs games it was more about stealth, but he's probably just goofing around testing all the weapons, it would surprise me if you can shoot your way through the whole game, would be boring.

From what I saw in this video, it looks a little easier when you're outside on the battlefield. When he went inside a building...well we're not sure what happens then.

Don't get me wrong, I love my PS3 but I just don't see the appeal in this game. Pretty much looks like any other wartime shooter. Not really enticing video if you ask me.

I'm sure there will be more interesting stuff coming soon though.
