At under $400, it's one of the cheapest Blu-ray players around, which is great for the movie buff. With built-in wireless and free access to the PSN, the price-reduced 40GB PS3 has features that some of the competing gaming systems still don't have.

Sony PS3 Blu-ray Disc Remote - $24.99
Complete your media center experience with the PS3 by picking up this Bluetooth remote. There's nothing wrong about using a standard PS3 controller for playback, but the remote certainly makes the experience a lot more intuitive.

Dual Shock 3 - Import only
This is going to be hard to find. The rumble-ready PS3 controller is seriously in-demand. If you can get one without selling a kidney, it'll be a worthwhile find. American versions of the controller will be available next year.

HDMI cables - Price varies
Hope you're not planning on using standard composite 480i cables with your PS3. Ensure full HD visuals with HDMI cables. Don't buy these at retail stores: you should never pay more than $20 for cables.
