For those of you in Europe who ran down to your local game store this morning, wide-eyed and hopeful that you would finally get your hands on Factor 5's dragon dive bomber Lair, please try not to let your disappointment overwhelm you. The game did not come out this week, instead being pushed back a couple of weeks. The new estimated release date is the 23rd of November.
Apparently, for once, Sony isn't at fault and the problem is being blamed on a manufacturing issue. If you really want Lair and you haven't yet imported it, then we're going to assume you're a bit crazy. Lair's EU sales figures will probably suffer thanks to the release of Guitar Hero III, Kane and Lynch and The Orange Box on the same day, but at least it will be out.
Whoops! Lair delayed in Europe again

Sales might suffer merely because Europe's had plenty of time to read about how much it apparently sucks.

@1 try http://www.cduniverse.com/ I use them because they have no problems sending them outside US (unlike Amazon), I do all my games purchases there just because Sony do not know where LAtin America is located, they ignore us

This game really isn't that bad, in fact I think that those who really panned it didn't take the time to learn the controls (which takes like 5 minutes). My complaints were on different things like difficulty on some levels and the ridiculous amount of cut scenes in the middle of combat. The controls were fine, a bit unresponsive at times, but a lot of games have moments of WTF and it doesn't really affect gameplay in Lair. I would have bought this if my buddy didn't own a Blockbuster (gee, buy...or free "rental"). Rent it first, but do check it out.

Just wanted to second the positive response to this game. I think the problem many reviewers had with the game is the steepness of the learning curve to really master the controls. I love games, but I have a wife and a career and various other things that mean that I don't play games religiously, so it took me a good deal longer than five minutes to get the controls down, but once I did I found them to be very responsive. They work pretty much exactly as they're meant to, with the exception being the 180 turn, but even that I eventually got the hang of. From a reviewer's point of view - where you're probably playing several games a week, to completion - having to spend a long time getting used to controls is probably very off-putting, so I understand some of the frustration, but the game is far better than most US critics would have you believe.

Hah, remember when they said they were going to release a demo? I guess they decided there just wouldn't be any benefit to letting people play it before they bought it?

just imported it last week, controls are responsive to me. Granted the 180 degree turn takes abit of practice to pull of.
I can now pull it off about 8 out of 10 times and i've only started playing it since yesterday. Pretty good actually.

I hate how Sony fanboys will stand behind this game till the bitter end. Face it, it SUCKS and is a huge disappointement of a game. Respected video game reviewers (IGN, gamespot etc.) didn't review this game negatively for no reason because it is actual garbage. No one should play this game unless they have a morbid interest in utilizing one of the worst control schemes over devised. There...someone had to say it.

First: I actually played the game myself and found it atrocious
Second: Game reviewers are PAID to do their frickin job, so I assume that they are at least semi accurate when reviewing a game and are not impartial
Third: And your just a fuckin fanboy who will stand by your system's games even if they suck tremendously.
